Pledford[TK]
So why do people not use hot glue gun on some parts of a build?....or do they?
I use e6000 but often wonder why we don't use hot glue. There must be a good reason
tkrestonva[TK]
Unless you know of a super-strength, "industrial grade" hot glue, it will not stand up to rigorous trooping - especially in hot weather environments. It's simply not strong enough.
Pledford[TK]
Cool. I knew there had to be a good answer.
I figured it wasn't strong enough but wondered if it would be strong enough for gluing the webbing/snap pieces to the abs and kidney. Just curious. E6000 just takes forever to dry and I'm too scared of using zap a gap....too permanent
Darth Tiberius
I've also heard that due to the heat some hot glue guns can warp/melt your plastic. You would probably have to buy a low temperature glue gun or risk damaging your kit.
cjdesign[TK]
E6000 all the way!!! It takes 24 hours to cure, but unlike permanent solutions, parts can be disassembled if necessary. elleerre
E6000 becomes like rubber when cured an has a high grade bonding strength while remaining flexible. Hot glue nothing like that. Da Tapatalk Edited February 18, 2016 by elleerre
