I do seem to have a nack for the weathering. Also covers up mistakes well ;)

Isn't that the truth! When I was working on project where I knew I'd be weathering and I nicked the piece I'm like, "Oh, that's just battle damage." Haha!

tried a replacement red but its too dark

Are your red stripes going over the joins on your biceps? If so, you will want to sand that paint off. Those stripes should be running across the raised detail on the back of the biceps.

I did wonder after seeing pics but assumed it was an error as the red strip always appears on the outside in reference pics and and the strip is at the front. So does this mean they wear biceps differently? A 1/4 turn.in?

How many coats are you using, mate? I'm thinking a single coat is best, given the amount of scrapes and wear on the screenshots of Battlefront?

No, they wear them just the same as any other trooper.
