Machinimax Posted February 6, 2016 Report Posted February 6, 2016 So it looks like I'm going to need some shims for my Anovos build in order to better fit me into some parts of the armor. My question is how do we attach them while still making the armor approvable for EIB or Centurion? Does anyone have pictures the can share. It's looking like I will need them for biceps, thighs, and the kidney plate. Thanks all! Quote
sylverbard[TK] Posted February 6, 2016 Report Posted February 6, 2016 As long as you only see on seam its good. So glue a piece inside each of the ab and kidney parts. Glue the shims in to those pieces and now you have three seams. Abs paste or seam filler when glueing the two that must hide, and rivet and attach as normal in the new middle seam. Quote
aliens8us Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 I'm glad you asked this! I'm planning on doing the same, with my AP TK/HWT. By no means am I fat or chubby, as I have a 34' waist. But I think it's because of my harness; suspenders/cargo belt system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
sylverbard[TK] Posted February 8, 2016 Report Posted February 8, 2016 34 by tape or by pant measurement? 34 shouldn't need shims. My by tape measurement was 37 a year ago and didn't need shims. Quote
Airborne Trooper[501st] Posted February 8, 2016 Report Posted February 8, 2016 Before I bought bigger thighs, I had to shim my MTK thighs. What I did was get an ABS For Sale sign and used that as a shim. I cut it into a V shape and glued it on the inside of the thigh piece. Then you need to smooth out the shim and make it flush with the thigh piece by using a filler like bondo and painting it or use ABS paste from scraps from trimming your armor. Quote
