The search starts!

Recommended Posts

Hello all! Well my search actually started on the original stormtrooper.com site looking at the battle tech combo deal with all the armour and blaster and holster. My concern I guess is the cost for one. Pretty well double in canadian bucks :( Then sizing. I'm 6.1 and 270lbs. Just from some reading here already I'm understanding the AM armour is what I should be looking towards. Next noobie question is where and who sells it? Lol! Preferably in Canada:) Should I go with a pre built armour or go with the diy way? I'm not scared to do some fabricating so if its a big bucks savings I will go that way and have a little extra pride that way to.;) Thanks to all for any feedback for sure!
Cheers!

Hello and welcome aboard.

Stay away from originalstormtrooper.com. Long and bad story about this guy.

We are about the sams size and I do recommend AM. Shipping to Canada is not to bad. The only thing that kills us is the 30% exchange rate.

Hi there fellow trainee! I'm a new Canadian recruit as well - and don't feel alone at first it's all information overload followed by even more questions. I highly recommend looking at attending your local garrison public armor party to get a lot of your questions answered before purchasing an armor kit and learn a ton more. You can find your garrison through the 501st website and look into the garrisons public forums or social media page. Another tip I have learned in the past month too is when you think you're done reading here - you're not - and there's a ton of video tutorials online about screen accurate and 501st worthy armor - good luck and cheers!

Hey buddy, I'm your size and about to build some AP armour with some extra shims to make it all the way around me. He's added a lot of space in it but still a little small for guys our size.

So give them some thought. Mark is a nice guy and has a good price for what you get :)

You will definitely save more than a few dollars building the armor yourself, Dan... Plus, it will be custom fit! To get in touch with AM and AP, try the following, and best of luck on your build!
