After AP Armour Purchase, Cost; timeline and building materials required

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am about ready to put in my deposit for my AP set. I was just wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction on building materials and and the other accessories required to complete the set to 501st standards.

I would also appreciate if anyone could give me a realistic timeline and costs to finish the set for a complete beginner (with DIY skills and is relatively handy). I'm just trying to be as efficient as possible.

Much thanks,

I got my AP kit done in a few months of fairly devoted time. Bought it May 4th. Arrived a couple weeks later and began. Just got approved last week!

I have a VERY comprehensive list of materials, etc, and where I bought everything (in Canuck bucks, too!). Send my a PM with your email, and I'll send you the .xls list!

Check out trooperbay.com for some supplies like darker lens and s-trim. I did my AP build in about three months. Take your time, measure twice and cut once rule applies. I would recommend e6000 glue. Strong but allows you to take apart pieces for adjustments. You can get strapping, Velcro, snaps, clamps and other stuff at your local hobby stores. Most of all, have fun with it...

Hope you do a build thread. We love pics :)
