Brandon Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Hey all, Looking to buy a new kit...really have my heart set on TM but also may go for RS. I am about 5'10" maybe slightly taller, and 175 lbs...32" waist. . I built an fx kit many years ago. I was barely 140lbs at the time so I've put on about 35lbs of muscle after some years of being a personal trainer and doing lots of weightlifting. I am not huge by any means but I know my legs and arms will be the areas of concern. Getting into the fx has been difficult at times for the biceps and forearms. And also the upper leg pieces. I remember I was able to cut the leg pieces to my own liking when building the fx... does anyone know if the TM has the same option of trimming? Anything similar with the arms? If not I think I would otherwise be ok shimming. Anybody else experience the same issues? I know I could just go for a bigger set like RT-Mod or maybe AM but I really do love the TM and I feel it would be a great upgrade from FX. Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 I have the same issue and concern as you. I'd love to get a TM, but I'm concerned that it won't work unless I put large shims in the arms and legs. Further, if you've been doing a lot of chest, back, and shoulder work, unless you do some very creative mods to the chest plate, shoulder bells, and backplate, you can expect to have some sizeable gaps at the shoulders. I would take some flexed measurements, send them to TM and/or RS, and see what they say. Once they get back to you, please post the answers here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Quote
hon143 Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) What's your suit size? I have a weightlifter/gymnast physique too....just a bit shorter than you. I'm about 5'8" and weigh about 165-170. Waist 31" and suit size is 41/42. I was able to fit in ATA/MTK armor without any issues. I just had to make the bicep pieces bigger than the typical size.I'm thinking AM armor might be too big for you. Edited April 12, 2015 by hon143 Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Hello, welcome aboard. You could ask TM his measurements? Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk Quote
Brandon Posted April 12, 2015 Author Report Posted April 12, 2015 Thanks all. Sent TM my measurements... He asked for non-flexing measurements but I included some "semi flexing" values as well taking into consideration that muscles do partially flex when elbows are bent and such. 15"bicep relaxed 16" semi flex with bent elbow (holding gun pose) 16.75" full flex forearms are not very big anymore theyve shrunk to a pretty average size just 13" flexed upper thighs (their widest point) are about 62cm. Chest is about 41"...he only seemed concerned with the limb pieces so I didnt give him this. I think my shoulders are my most developed/larger than average area but Im feeling confident the shoulder bells will fit just fine as they do on my current suit. Not a huge guy by any means, I just started out on a VERY skinny frame when I was 140lbs lol. I told him I foresee probably an inch of growth in the biceps and legs as well so I would like to keep in mind having some extra room when i build. I will post what the results are once he gets back for anyone who is interested. Quote
hon143 Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Regarding the biceps, I had originally sized the bicep pieces based on arms nearly fully flexed and fully-bent. I found that it was unnecessary since I couldn't fully bend my arms with everything on. So you don't have to size the bicep pieces for maximum diameter when fully flexed. Quote
