sebastien Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Hello, I'm sorry to ask a newbie question but is it possible to create a hero armor out of an ATA kit ? Does the difference between stunt and hero is in the way you build the kit (less teeth, bubble eyes, ...) or in the original mold of the kit you are using ? Thank you for the tips Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 You can do it but there are some things that need changing. First, you will need to get a set of hero ears from Terrell. They have only three bumps per side instead of 4. Although you would only trim out three teeth per side, it is highly recommended to fill in the last tooth indents with ABS paste process or gently heating them out with a hobby iron. The hero face in the original film was a totally different mold than the stunt helmets. You will need the bubble instead of flat lenses. And you will need to use 4 attachment points on your holster. Thank you for your feedback, that totally makes sense. I really like the look of the "bubble eyes" in the hero helmet but it seems more complex to qualify for hero from an ATA and maybe not a good idea for the first build... I will start with a stunt :-) Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Hey Sebastien, I managed to convert an ATA to hero, a little bit of heat, some sanding and polish, you can also get hero ears form ATA, then it's just bubble lenses and some Dave M decals http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23694-hero-bucket-build/ Quote
Zaphod[TK] Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Hi Sebastien, I made a hero ATA for my first build. Got EIB, and just need to take some new pics for centurion application. See my EIB from the link in my signature. You can do it, it just takes a little more work that's all. Sent from my iTricorder using Tapatalk Quote
