Size of covers(Shims) over Butt Joints

Hi Guys..

 

I know I seen it somewhere but I cant find it at the moment, in relation to butt Joints on Arms and Legs, and the shim that covers the butt Joint, What size (width) should they be,,,  ( am going for centurion)  Was it Arms 15mm and Legs 20mm or?

Darn Still none the wiser,, Im ( now the Proud owner Of a 1.5mm work of Art ) working on 1.5mm TM Armour....

The logical thing to do is to size the cover strip to the same width as your raised edges after they have been sized and joined....no?
