Murray1134[501st] Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 I just got my FX kit (I know, I'm new at this and had to start somewhere). Today was the first day for trying on and assembly. With taping the shins in place, I very quickly realized that they are a bit too small for my shins. The height is fine, it's the circumfrence that is the problem. Apparently, I have larger calves than your standard trooper. Also, I ran into a problem with the thighs. Basically, it's the exact opposite. They are freakishly large on me. Height is not a problem. However, I could probably fit my arm alongside my thigh inside the armor piece. Basically, anyone have recommendations, experience, problems on shimming the shins and reforming the thighs? Quote
SuperTrooper Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Well most people have lager calves than the average trooper. Here are a couple threads and websites that should help: Thighs: ----- Also keep in mind the left thigh is larger than the right one. To make them match you will have to cut a wedge that is larger at the bottom of the left thigh. You can use a tailor's tape measure to determine how much to cut, but it is several inches off the bottom and an inch or two off the top. When cutting use masking tape, or painters tape and mark where you are going to cut. If your using a dremel or razor cut from the inside, that way if you mess up, the mark won't be seen.
