azheat01
Hey Guys/Gals, First, I hope this is the right section to post this. If not, I trust the mods will move it to the correct location. Second, I just bought an FX kit, which I am very pleased with as this is my first, but certainly not my last, set of armor. However, I noticed the shin armor was a little too short and they do not close all the way in the back. You can see in the picutre they are about 17" high in the front. Rather than buy a shorter mannequin (this one is 6'), I would prefer another set of shin armor. I did not modify the armor in anyway. It seems the shins on my mannequin are just a little thicker than the limit for the shin armor. My question is, does anyone here know if there is a way to purchase some larger shin armor? I really don't want to modify these as I don't believe I have the skills or patience, and I want it to look professional. I would like a set that is about 3" taller and maybe a bit larger in the calf area. I can't move these up any further becasuse of the structure of the mannequins shins, they didn't fit at all when I tried that. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. ------------ Edited February 19, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed
SuperTrooper
The FX has larger shins than most. Thing is I'm 6'2" and I don't have nearly as much black showing at the knees and hips. It's possible that your mannequin has overly long legs and a short body since it looks like the chest piece is covering some of the ab buttons and is almost touching the belt. Daetrin[Admin]
Actually for overall measurements there's not much delta between makes in terms of length. I've compared FX, TE2, and RT and they're very close on the shins - all about 15" (RT is 15" exact when I just measured mine). Until someone creates a good tutorial (hint) on adding a shim lengthwise, or else better someone creates new shin molds that are an inch or two longer, what we have is what we have. azheat01
Bummer, well I guess I can lower the ab plate, then lower the thigh armor, that may help.
