rapstertee
Hello! I'm almost there with my Stunt build now, so I wanted to put up some of my progress pics for inspection. Apologies for the graininess of some of the pics but it was my antique mobile phone - rest assured my clearance and final pics will be crisp. I'm building with Centurion status in mind, so admins please can you check and advise as and where neccessary? First off, Ab plate, right hand side: Ab plate, Left hand side (rivets will be painted white) Cod piece rivet (does this need to be white also?) Closeups of the rivet inside: Shoulder bridges: Inside right of ab plate Inside of chest/shoulder bells assembly: Back/Kidney/buttplate assembly: Hand-painted Ear bumps ®: Ear bumps (L) Thermal Detonator: Dropbox R: Holster attachment on Left: Holster from outside: Belt (rivet covers now attached) Green lenses and hand painted detail (except tube stripes) S-Trim: Hand painted tears: Hand painted frown: Hand painted Vocoder Hand painted traps Curved Ammo Strap That's it for now. I will post up further pics very soon!
The5thHorseman[501st]
I think you can trim a lot more around your crotch right now, just follow the recess: And the crotch rivet is left unpainted:

rapstertee
Okay, all the kit on, here are some pics for pre-clearance inspection - I will note the things I need to change, so you don't need to worry about them...NB: These are NOT my clearance pics. I will do my final fixes then take some outdoors with a plain BG.Lids off:Not looking too bad. Authentic 1976 hair and sideburns - check!RIGHT side:1/2" side gap, hope this will decrease as my girth/weight does. TD needs lower placement (re-bend clips). White Knee rivet.REAR full:Lower the TD, close calves more straight. (right one has a 'twist' in it)LEFT side:1" side gap. Paint rivets white. lower TD.FRONT full:Might take another inch or half-inch off the top of thighs. Need to pull ab& cod up by shortening inner elastics.REAR lower:Close calves properly. Shorten crotch elastic by 1". Calves need padding inside - they're digging into my knee bones!REAR upper:neckseal needs tucking in. TD lower. I know the shoulder bridges look uneven - that's just the placement of elastic pulling the right one down lower.LEFT closeup:Paint rivets white. (does the holster need white rivets?) Lower TD. 1" side gapRIGHT closeup:Rivets on knee need to be white. Cosmetic popper on ab corner is only slightly visible.FRONT closeup:Turn (painful) left shin outwards a bit.Thigh before trimming:Just showing how much I've taken off the top edge of both thighs to allow my knees to bend. rapstertee
Anyone want to give my pics a check and let me know how I'm doing with Centurion in mind, please?
gazmosis[501st]
I really would rather have seen you cut that thigh top on this outline: I would hit your side rivets white, your power pack rivets on the right thigh white. Leave the cod rivet and male snap on the upper right of the ab unpainted. In regards to fit, your thighs look really big especially at the knee. The human thigh is conical. Larger at the top and smaller at the knee. Your thigh armor should match that. I would separate the rear seam (hopefully you used E6000) and get someone to help you. Once separated, squeeze the halves together. You will have overlap at the bottom. release the squeeze until comfortable. Mark a common line in the center to trim by. you will see how much better it looks and feels. You will need to reduce that side gap to no more than 1/2 inch. you have some nice looking armor, Sir! Also, your thermal detonator clips should be attached with slotted head screws rather than pop rivets. This will benefit you because the clips need to be farther outward towards the side caps with minimal to no gap between the clip and the end cap
