Older Doopy Doo's kit question.

From my previous attempt at getting my TK together, I have an older kit.

It has no charging handle.  Is this acceptable for EIB and hopefully Centurion one day?

 

I'm pretty happy with the paint and build other than that.

It has about quite a bit of dust on it and one paint chip on the barrel from being in storage for ~5 years.

 

If the charging handle is going to keep it from passing, would it be better to start over with a new kit or go through the cleanup and try to fabricate a handle with green stuff or buy a real charging handle from someplace like apex gun parts.

Although if the dust has gotten into the paint, I am not sure I can strip the paint without dissolving the resin.

Yes you do need the charging handle, but like Vern said, easy fix.

I will probably just go with a new kit.

Especially since my daughter has offered to assist me on the build.

the charging handle will just glue in place really... the way they are designed you could just pop it in and glue it down.
