DizzyStormtrooper[501st]
are white to be omitted from a rotj suit? ive got about 3 inches of gap and am using white shims to hold my TKC torso together, will it be passable? theres no specifics about shims in both crl's. i thought anh ones were the only suits the required them if the gap was greater than 1/2 inch. TK1636[TK]
The shims are only for EIB and if you put them in correctly nobody will be able to see them as shims. Edited January 17, 2014 by TK1636
gazmosis[501st]
This topic is in discussion. The discussion focusses around the u trim that goes around the armor parts. In a standard RotJ suit, the inside edge of the kidney and butt plates make a straight line vertically. with the u trim lining this path. If a shim was added here, would the trim need to be applied to the shim as well?
DizzyStormtrooper[501st]
thats why i asked. my shims are velcroed on so theres some space for the trim on the parts, maybe the shims could be painted satin black to blend in with the undersuit leaving the rest to appear accurate
gazmosis[501st]
I think that is going to depend on how large your gap is. If it is any more than 1/2 inch, the kidney will need to be extended.
