Been trooping my very first set of armor for about ten months now and it has served me very well for my twenty some troops. I'm starting to get some wear and tear all around, that's ok and I kind of expect that, but yesterday I noticed a small crack in my bucket under the left/center of the chin coming straight out from the S-trim. It's only about a half inch long, but i'd like to stop it in it's tracks. I've heard about some using the t-shirt method, they're happy with it and it works well, but i'm not sure exactly what this involves or how it's done.

Anyone have any experience with this or a suggestion on a better way of fixing the crack??

Thanks

p.s. It's a CAP bucket I bought that already built and used by another member

The t-shirt method is easy......a piece of heavy t-shirt soaked with superglue. Watch the fumes, though! This has stopped many a crack!

I dropped my bucket (AP) at my first troop and cracked it. I used a small piece of thin HIPS that I found at my hardware store and glued it with some E-6000.

A little abs or plastic for strength behind the crack and some e6000 should do the trick. You can then fill the outside of the crack with either, abs paste, while silicon or bondo, the crack may even be not too visible once you have given it some strength behind :D

Thanks for your assistance everyone, had another troop today so I haven't made any repairs yet, but I now have a week until my next outing so i'll give these a try one night this week.
