Coffee time

I couldn't think of any other appropriate title for this thread, so I just named it Coffee time :P

The point of this thread is just we just sit down and talk about ourselves. Our interests, hobbies and jobs.. etc. Things we haven't said before on FISD so others can get to know us better :)

Seeing how different but yet so alike we're all at FISD at the end, united by the same love for Star Wars' white shiny troopers :)

So, I'll start :)

My full name is Juan Enrique Morales Rosario and I'm from the middle of nowhere in Puerto Rico, in a town called Naranjito. I was born on October 27th, 1992 ( my birthday's this saturday! woohoo) Naranjito is full of trees - everywhere! I think I should've chosen to be a Biker Scout at first since it seems to be more appropriate, considering where I live :P

I'm currently studying Auto Body repair, but it's not entirely what I love. I might join the Navy or the Army once I graduate from where I'm studying and reach my weight goal. I'm going to the gym right now, started at 270 lbs and 4 weeks now later i've lost 5 pounds, so, making my actual weight 265. It's going VERY, VERY slow, but at least I'm making progress and that's what keeps me motivated :) My weight goal is 180. Perhaps, after I reach my goal I can sell or store my current AM armor and purchase another one. Maybe ATA, AP, RS or anything screen-derived.

I also love video games, Metal Gear Solid is my favorite video game and my favorite movie so far is Casino Royale, the one with Daniel Craig. (I'm crossing my fingers, hoping that Skyfall will top it by MILES)

The reason why I chose my fisd name "BananoPower22" is because when I was in middle school (7th grade I believe) I had my hair cut really, really short and I was ashamed of it for a while. I started using a yellow hoodie and used the hoodie part to cover my head so people wouldn't see my hair cut since I was incredibly ashamed of it :P.

My friends started calling me Guineo, Platano, Banano (it's spanish for Banana). At first it made me MAD but after a while, my hair grew but the name stuck and everyone called me banano. Later at high school I started using it again and old memories came back and a friend said something like "the power of the banano is back!", we goofed around with the jacket for a while and ever since that moment, my name (secretly) on different websites and forums has been either BananoPower or BananoPower2. On fisd I had to use "22" because I tried signing up with BananoPower2 with a @hotmail.com account but said it was blocked for some unknown reason to me, so I created an @live.com account and added a second "2" to the name and it was accepted :)

Well, I gotta run to the gym now, it's 10am right now! See you all later :)

Great thread, Juan! I definitely dig it! :duim:

The name is Greg, I'm 26 years old, and currently live in Jacksonville, Florida (have been for nearly 14 years). I'm currently on the waiting list for ATA, and gathering/assembling all the other necessary pieces for my TK in the meantime. I've been wanting to join the ranks for the 501st for nearly a decade now, and am finally taking the leap thanks to Squad 7 and particularly Wolfgar's extreme help and advice. I seem to have extreme social anxiety, so taking this leap has been a major milestone for me! Haha.

I got out of the Navy last year, so if you want to talk about the perks and such of military service, be sure to toss your questions my way Juan! I'd be glad to answer them. I enjoyed my military service solely because of the people, the bonds you build with those who have your back no matter what is unbreakable. The missions, meh, we won't go into that. I'm currently enrolled in college, using the GI Bill, and pursuing a career (at the moment, you never know when my ambitions will change) in education...with the goal of becoming a high school history teacher.

I am an avid PC gamer. My fascination with online PC gaming truly started with the first Diablo game. I would log onto Battlenet with our 56k modem, and have a blast with my buddies. I then moved on to Ultima Online, which I still dabble in, and still consider it the perfect template for a solid MMO...despite it's Sega Genesis-like graphics. :) I've been playing Company of Heroes since 2007, and play it almost on a nightly basis with my buddies who have moved around the nation. I'm also playing Red Orchestra 2, which is an awesome WW2 style online FPS. Other than that, nothing has really gripped my attention. I'm waiting for 'Heroes and Generals' to be released...which shows great promise (I loved WWII Online).

I enjoy my coffee black, and my beer dark.

I look forward to receiving my armor once I'm next-up on the waiting list, and trooping with everyone!

Great idea Juan! My name is Ryan and I'm 38 (yes I was one of the lucky ones to have seen all of the original trilogy in the theaters when they came out)!

I have been married for 16 years and have 4 wonderful kids. My oldest two have trooped with me as Jawas in the past. I am an artist and animator. I used to work at Warner Bros. and Dreamworks on hand drawn animated films. I currently have 2 home businesses: the first one is selling Star Wars family member car stickers that I designed: http://starwarsspoof...r_stickers.html. The other is selling pre-made cartoon characters to people who can't draw! I also animated them so people can use them in their own cartoons or eLearning: https://www.cartoonsolutions.com/

I am a part time Flash Animation instructor at the Utah Valley University, where I teach cartoon animation... it's so fun to see people learn a new skill and find joy in bringing their drawings to life.

I also like to snowboard, but it's been a couple of years since I've gone. I like to Ripstik with my boys during the summer.

My current favorite food to eat is sushi rolls... I can't get enough of that stuff (too bad it's so stinkin' expensive)! I am also a sucker for movie theater popcorn and will admit that I've went to see movies in the past mostly just to eat the popcorn!

Besides Star wars, I love Super heroes like Captain America, Superman and Spider-man. I'm also really into character design and am trying to improve my drawing skills. Just take a look at my Pinterest boards and you'll see exactly what I enjoy: http://pinterest.com/starwarsfamily/

I've been trooping as a TK for 3 years and have sadly gained weight as well, making my armor look not as fabulous as it could. I'm currently on Nutrisystem and have lost 15 lbs but need to stick with it better in order to lose more!
