Great thread, Juan! I definitely dig it!
The name is Greg, I'm 26 years old, and currently live in Jacksonville, Florida (have been for nearly 14 years). I'm currently on the waiting list for ATA, and gathering/assembling all the other necessary pieces for my TK in the meantime. I've been wanting to join the ranks for the 501st for nearly a decade now, and am finally taking the leap thanks to Squad 7 and particularly Wolfgar's extreme help and advice. I seem to have extreme social anxiety, so taking this leap has been a major milestone for me! Haha.
I got out of the Navy last year, so if you want to talk about the perks and such of military service, be sure to toss your questions my way Juan! I'd be glad to answer them. I enjoyed my military service solely because of the people, the bonds you build with those who have your back no matter what is unbreakable. The missions, meh, we won't go into that. I'm currently enrolled in college, using the GI Bill, and pursuing a career (at the moment, you never know when my ambitions will change) in education...with the goal of becoming a high school history teacher.
I am an avid PC gamer. My fascination with online PC gaming truly started with the first Diablo game. I would log onto Battlenet with our 56k modem, and have a blast with my buddies. I then moved on to Ultima Online, which I still dabble in, and still consider it the perfect template for a solid MMO...despite it's Sega Genesis-like graphics. I've been playing Company of Heroes since 2007, and play it almost on a nightly basis with my buddies who have moved around the nation. I'm also playing Red Orchestra 2, which is an awesome WW2 style online FPS. Other than that, nothing has really gripped my attention. I'm waiting for 'Heroes and Generals' to be released...which shows great promise (I loved WWII Online).
I enjoy my coffee black, and my beer dark.
I look forward to receiving my armor once I'm next-up on the waiting list, and trooping with everyone!
