Original straping on AP kit why wont it work?

Hey Guys as the title says, Why do folk say it wont work?

and to just do snaps..

Maybe the return edges on the torso aren't deep enough?

The main reason people advise against it is the heavy grade of plastic. AP armour (as far as I know) is only produced in a thick grade of plastic (2mm), making the armour much heavier than the originals (1mm - 1.5mm).

You still might get the original strapping system to work. I personally wouldn't risk it. I would expect it to break quite quickly under the excess weight.

IMO...Snaps are a really good way to keep things in place.

I'm pretty sure the chest doesn't have the same right angle on it to attach the screws. Also as stated above, it'd probably be hazardous to install with such thick of a plastic.
