James[501st] Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 I picked up the smoked green lexan material from trooperbay and made some lenses. I've cut them to size and added a velcro strip around the edges. I have velcro in my bucket and the lenses are secured by pressing them into that material. Works great. I also did some heat bending on them to get a curve. So one is a little blurry so I pulled it and saw some fingerprints, no big deal. Cleaned with soap and warm water. Odd, still there. Tried some rubbing alcohol, rinse with soap and water ..odd still there. Tried goo-gone, what the heck? still there. The surface of the lens on both sides looks spotless, but when you look through it there are a bunch of finger prints. The only thing I think could have been on my hands was a little goop from the velcro adhesive. Have no idea how to clean it off at this point, or if it's even on the surface. Thinking of trying novus 2 and 1 next. Anyone seen this before? Quote
James[501st] Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 Some Goo Gone maybe? I did try that (first post) and no luck. It appears as if the prints are not even on the surface. Odd. Quote
kevster[TK] Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Did you touch it soon after heat bending it? If it was still warm from heating it, your finger print might of actually imprinted into the plastic itself. In which case you can only polish it out. Quote

Planning on trying novus #2 and #1. Quote
bobojuice Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 If the fingeprint is from heat, try reheating them and rubbing them down to remove the lines. I did that when i got a bunch of scratches on a set once. Quote
