tkRyno Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 What paint do you recommend for the thermal detonator. I've seen instructions for a dark gray. Is there a particular color number or brand I should look for? Thanks in advance. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 You can use the same grey paint as on the helmet. Quote
kevster[TK] Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Usually a gray primer works good too. I used rustoleum painters touch gray primer. If you are planning on building your own gun and painting it instead of just buying one, you then can use the primer for the gun too. Quote
tk0000[501st] Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Gloss or no gloss on the screen used suits? Quote
Hedjii72 Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Do you have to sand it before painting? Quote
Sonnenschein Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Do you have to sand it before painting? Always give a light sanding before painting anything Quote
TK_LEPER Posted September 27, 2011 Report Posted September 27, 2011 Yeah, it give the paint something to bite into ... use a fine grit 400 or higher. I highly recommend using Rustoleum's plastic primer first. All you need is a light dusting, don't coat it like you would the paint. Quote
tkRyno Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Posted September 27, 2011 Thanks for the advice guys! It's funny how even this little task requires certain know-how to get it right. Quote
