PGHtrooper21
I am in the middle of a redo on my lid. I used "Rustoleum, Gloss White Enamel" to paint my lid. I messed up painting my "Traps and Tear's". I tries to sand the paint off, but it made it worse. I put two coats of "Gloss White" on the helmet last evening. It said that the paint will dry in 15 min or less. The question I have is. How long should I wait to paint the "Traps and Tears"? Thanks. mondas42
Most paint will cure from the outside in, so in approx 15 mins the surface of the paint will be touch dry but under the surface the paint is still wet. The cure time will depend upon the relative temp and humidity, but I would normally allow 24-48 hours for full cure time but occasionally it may take even longer. That said when putting multiple coats of paint you must do all the coats quite quickly otherwise you end up putting paint on a half cured coat and you can end up with the dreaded "orange peel" effect Martin

PGHtrooper21
I was going to touch up the bottom of the "bell" protion. the part above where the "S trim" goes. Would that effect anything? I am going to wait till next weekend to paint the details on the traps. Andy
