So, I have this resin mold, but there's plasticine all over it.

Is there a wayto remove it? there are some cracks and nooks where I can't get it out.

Any help is highly appreciated :)

How about putting it in the dish washer. Or would resin melt in hot water? I find a lot of lifes problems can be solved by putting them in the dish washer.

try rubbing alcohol first with a toothbrush. You were making new molds right? try spraying the finished sculpt next time with a clear sealer like Krylon Crystal Clear it will keep the clay from sticking in the mold.

Is the mold a silicone mold, or a resin master?

if it's a silicone mold, usually the first couple pulls will pull out some of the silicone since the resin is sticky.

Thanks everyone!

Its a 2-part mold, made out of resin...

I could'nt use waterbased clay, as the PU resin would have been foamed up because of the water..

What kind of dishwasher do you have :)

Mine gets very upset if I leave too much grime on the plate

It's a good one :D . We got a new one because my wife found out that I put some motorbike engine parts in it. So I got to keep the old one to use as a parts washer. Those bike parts sure do come out purdy. Glad you found something that worked Karin.

Palmolive, its a powerful cleaner leaving your molds sparkling clean.

Just like your favorite casserole dish,Palmolive Original dishwashing liquid is as good as ever.

Glad I could help out. B)
