TK50166[TK] Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I am looking for the best option for helmet, I have a big head and wear glasses. I would also like to put some electronics in eventually as well. I am leaning towards AM/FX, but from what I've read, many people like different helmets better. Which helmet would be ideal for my situation, looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance. Quote
john danter Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Could it not depend on how you pad the lid out my friend i.e, if you place a strip of foam on your forehead (inside the lid) that will automatically push the lid back away from your lenses? That said, I don't wear glasses, so hopefully someone will have an answer Contacts? John Quote
tkrestonva[TK] Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I wear glasses and have a large head, but I have to take off my glasses in ordet to get my helmet on. I primarily wear a TM, but it was the same when RT Mod was my trooping helmet. If you can wear contact, that's the best solution. While the FX/AM helmet offers plenty of room, it's also horribly inaccurate and quickly falling out of favor. Best to start off with a better bucket than having to upgrade later. Alternatively, you can have TK lenses ground to your prescription. Any optician that makes prescription sunglasses should be able to do it, although you'll probably need to bring in your helmet so that they get the size/shape of the lenses correct. It's also an expensive option - and you'll probably get some "reactions" when you explain why you want this - but it's doable. I see this is your first post. How about an introduction in the New Member Introductions section? Quote
DarkTrooper[TK] Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 get contacts. I'm able to wear glasses in my CAP-W helmet. Foam padding placed at the brow area does help to push you head back a little to make room for glasses. Troopers with larger craniums unfortunately have less options when it comes to accurate helmets. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 some sport glasses in the form of goggles might be a solution? form fitting? like something a basketball player might wear? Quote
