vgatchaman
After 3 slow and grueling months of work on this suit, I finally finished my AM build. It was my first build and I just applied for 501st. I had a lot of fun and am already looking forward to my next build (as soon as I save some cash!). This is just a standard AM build but with a CAP-W bucket. Just wanted to post some of the pics here as I'm sure there's a lot I need to fix and whatnot. BTW I know the ammo belt on the right thigh is detached on the right side. I am working on fixing that =). Anyways, here we go! And this is my "How YOU doin'?" pic... Trooper7753
Looks good mate but don't forget the mesh that goes in behind the frown.
tkrestonva[TK]
I suggest you move the drop boxes out more, such that the outer edges of the drop boxes align with the outer edges of the belt. Also, your utility belt should be raised some and made level - I have mine such that the top of the belt is touching the bottom of the ab button box. Of course, you already noted the thigh ammo belt. Overall, good job,
RogueTrooper[TK]
Hey Ryan, nice looking armor, great job man The only things that I see, that you will need to do, is like Bryan said above about the utility belt being raised and the drop boxes out more and your note about the knee ammo. The other thing I see is the space between you kidney and Ab armor should not have any black showing. The CRL requirements states in the "Should Have": or if you are going for the EIB this is a "Must Have": * Armor side gaps should be closed. This should be done by adding a shim or shims of material that must be of similar material and color as the ab and back plate. Shims should fit flush and may have seams. Ideally they will be seamless if possible to the ab and/or back plate, resulting in a single seam between the ab/back rather than extra seams for where the shims are joined You can go to your local hardware store or Walmart and get the "For Sale By Owner" plastic signs and spray paint them white to blend in for the shims. Or, you can check hobby shops. They sell small sheets of ABS and HIPS for making model cars and 'planes that can be used as well. Other than that you are looking good. Oh BTW, you can "cuss" me later, but since you are an ANH stunt, I know it is hard for right handed people to get used to it, but you will need to hold your blaster in your left hand
vgatchaman
Thanks for all the pointers guys! I will definitely try to close that gap. When I saw it, I didn't realize it was opening that big. I actually think it's just the armor flaring out and if I add a few more snaps, I can get it to close no problem. I will definitely work on holding the blaster in my left hand too . I will try to raise the utility belt higher, but I have problems keeping it up. I am working on attaching snaps on the front to hold the belt in place, but I am afraid that the female snaps I have already attached to my belt are too low. I will also try to move the drop boxes out more (that might prove to be a problem since they are trapped by the rivets attaching the belt to the canvas belt).
