im an engineer, i travel the uk repairing lifts, gates, trash compactors basicly anything the instore techs cant repair for tesco supermarkets only really work a couple of days a week, on call.

No, believe it or not its a pair of knee pads from my work trousers!!!! got a few pairs so i cut this pair up and it works great. Cheap too.

I tried the hard hat inset but i just couldnt get the glue to stick, so i have done this now, its sits well on my head and no wobble. what do you think of this method, the stuff looks quite good inside too

Today im going to cut and fit some lenses, what is the best way to fit the lenses? I know i could just glue them in but is there anything else or another way to fit?

i have found one on ebay but i dont think i can post a link?

thanks chef, i dont have an humbrol white here at the moment, only undercoat and tip-ex!!

ok i have been painting for a few hours now, heres whats happened, i removed the decals on the frown and painted them with the humbrol No5.Took my time and i think it came out allright. Also had to apint the ears as they were plain white as seen ealier in the thread. i decided that the fly mesh i got was not good enough, so i found these old broken speakers from my car and i hope to use this as mesh instead i have also found some smoked black safety specs so i will be trying them for replacement lenses as the ones in my helmet are marked badly.

i cant use a rivet tool either, the rivet never snaps and i fear i would break my armour, especially on the test pieces ive done, i think i wil use small machine screws for certain parts instead.

Could i get a close up pic of your frown and raised ears pieces so i can paint mine properly please. dont want to paint something that should be white!!

just called into my local pound shop and bought some window fly screen for the mesh in the teeth. Ill have a mess about with it later and post a pic of what i come up with for you all to comment on.

What material is used for the lenses, i am a welder and have access to welding masks, could this material be used for a lense? If not does anyone here sell lenses, one problem is i cant use a green lense as i suffer from migraine and epilepsy and the green lok would make my head spin!!

thanks for the comments guys, the helmet is made from ABS. Im going to paint the ears soon, had a bit of a sickness bug yesterday so im taking it easy today, also im thinking about painting the mesh black, any suggestions on weather i should do this.

i intend to finish the helmet painting today, i need to paint the ears i know, i will also paint the mesh black, didnt notice that it needed to be black. as or the trim, this pic shows it at a slant in the movie -----------

i went to my market today, there was a stall there selling allsorts of seamstress bits and bobs, so i bought some nice elastic and she had a vario plier there for £7 so bought it , lucky find.
