  1. I'll be hitting this tomorrow less trooper armor (not done yet). Hope to see ya'll there!
  2. Although I'm a newb to Trooping. I've seen this before. Reminds me of a self-proclaimed modeling expert named David Merriman... who self righteously announces his stuff is the best, and everyone else is a 'mere' modeler / scatchbuilder... all of whom are his customers btw. Old noise. Have a blast peeps.
  3. The reason I got into it was simple.... who DOESN'T want to be a TK?????? I figure I had put Stormtrooper Armour on my 'things to build' list around the mid 80's. As my modeling and scratch building skills got better, and the stuff I was building got alot bigger, I started making preparations to start doing drawings around the mid 90's. But at that time there were people making their own armor. After some investigation I couldn't find anywhere to purchase a set... so the idea got shelved for about 10 more years. There are some logical reasons behind wanting it as well. First is.. I'm not going to pretend I'm Luke Skywalker or Han Solo.. I don't look like either and doing so would be just futile. Being a TK is anonymous, and you have the fun of still being a cool StarWars character. Second is, my ultimate goal was to just have a 1:1 scale prop in the corner of my display room. The bonus is... I can actually wear the stuff! In search of that ever 'perfect' 1:1 Yoda*, I stumbled across armor up for sale on ebay about 3 months ago. And I jumped in. Saves me the time of building my own thank god! *(Yoda is a funny guy. I've been looking for a really nice version of him... but never found something I'm satisfied with. During the quest though, I've found 10 other things that I probably never would have acquired if I wasn't looking for the old Jedi Master!) So, now I'm 1 more item down on the 'things to build' list... 2 major projects on the bench now, 8 more lined up. Lynch
  4. What makes you who you are? Well, I think my experiences and life have made me who I am. My parents pointed me in the right direction and instilled good values, but my choice to send my life in certain directions and the resulting experiences define me I think. What makes you tick? To boldly go where few dare to tread. I'm a reformed adrenaline junkie. I spent the better part of my life seeking adrenaline and outlets for aggression, I've been in combat, raced cars, jumped off just about everything. I enjoy facing my fears, and most would say temping fate. What do you do for a living? I'm a partner in a cosmetic brush wholesale company and represent 90% of hi-end brushes coming out of Japan. After killing myself to make everybody else rich, I've been blessed with the opportunity to live a comfortable and successful life. What other passions do you have? I guess racing is a big one, although my participation has ramped down over the last few years. Music is a big one. I'm a military historian with particular interest in WWII German U-Boats. Other Hobbies and such? My hobbies are wide spread and I have so many projects on the bench that the remainder of my usable life seems to be spoken for. I scratch build models/RC/replicas/props. Play guitar and have contributed to a host of Tribute Albums, Game Music and some Indie Movie scores. I'll build anything... usually just because I'm bored. Target shooting and sniper competitions when time permits. Married or Not? Married my soulmate. I feel very lucky to have her. Kids? Newborn, about 6months old now. I avoided this topic like the plague for years, now I wonder why I didn't do it sooner. He's the coolest, and he'll inherit all my junk.
  5. I'm getting my 1st Stormtrooper armour done right now so I can try and make this. BTW. How does all this work?? You guys just show up, pay your fee and walk in? Lynch
