Hey Troops, I was just wondering if some of you could chime in and tell how you installed your mouth screens and lenses? I haven't quite decided the best way yet and I'm going to install them tonight. I think the coolest way would be TK-4205's way but I think I would save that for a different bucket. Thanks, Curtis

Thanks MD, I'm finishing up the paint on the helmet today and then put the mouth screen and lenses in. Decals, screws and trim tomorrow. Curtis

Thank you, I got my holster from a fellow TK and he got it from AP. But these holsters are nice to. http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=444 Curtis

You can get the E6000 at a craft store and yes it does dry clear. I only used it to secure elastic strips, cause it seems like it can be removed if the straps wear out. Its kind of like industrial strength rubber cement except clear. Hope that helps, Curtis

Hey Troops, I thought I would give you a few teaser pics of my helmet kit since it will take me a couple of weeks to finish it and post that process. I'm going to make a Stunt helmet. I threw away the almost clear green film that came with the kit and found some thick green lenses on the big auction house. Also I'm going to install the awesome Hovi's w/speakers I got from Stomper into my Skullwork kit. Last the batting helmet liner out of a Wilson batting helmet from Wally World. Stay tuned for more, Curtis

Hey Troops, I thought I would share the last part of my armor (minus helmet) the thermal detonator. I found paint to match my decals at the local Hobby store, Tamiya aircraft: Ocean Grey. I taped off the area where I was going to glue the faceplate onto and put three coats of this paint on the PVC. I used Devcon Plastic Welder to glue the faceplate on and then bent some money clips I found at the local Office supply store around it and taped them in place. Then drilled four 1/8 holes and peeled back the tape and put 1/8 rivets in them and that was all. Very easy mod I haven't decided about the end pieces though, they do fit tight but they might pop off during a Troop. Suggestions welcome I've started on my helmet, so stay tuned for more to come. Till next time, Curtis

I've never seen that... very interesting.... Does it dry clear? I use Devcon Plastic Welder, its a two part epoxy just for plastic. It works similar two ABS cement but it cures within 15 minutes so you don't have to wait 24 hours. It dries to a cream color so you have to make sure you don't get any on the outside of your armor. With the plastic welder your a lot less likely to damage your armor cause it doesn't get as hot as ABS cement. That liquid welder is interesting though, has anyone else used that stuff? Curtis

Daetrin, How do you have your shoulder bells/biceps connected? Thanks, Curtis

I would like to see that thread, I looked but I couldn't find it. Thanks Paul, Curtis

Thats a good idea Chef. Curtis

Mine to were youth helmets, But when you take out the liner it expands. I think its the same liner cause it was crammed into the youth helmets. Curtis

Thanks Paul, That sounds like a better idea to me, cause I haven't yet put everything on and moved around a lot or pointed my gun around. Yes I see how I can have that problem of pulling down my shoulder bells. With the two straps does that still alleviate the need for the strap from the bottom of the shoulder bell around the bicep? Thanks for your comments Paul, If you want to you can sponsor me with one of your awesome armors and I could turn my AP TK into an AP TD! Lol..... Curtis

I got lucky and when I was at my local Wally World I found these helmets on clearance for $11 so I bought two and one for my buddy Dave. It took all of 5 minutes to take out the liner. ----- Curtis

Thanks Dave, I would put one together for you if you came down here and helped me..Lol Curtis

Hey Troops, I've finished my Upper armor today and it fits like a glove. Almost completed the armor, I might have to change the elastic on my shoulder bells and biceps to a stronger version and fit some foam in the thighs. Other than that I'm finished and then on to the helmet. For the chest and back pieces I used a method a found from TK-MD. Then just added snaps to the inside of my armor with plastic welder. I also used TK-300's site (Tony Barnett) for reference, which he has updated and it looks very nice..... http://www.tonybarnett.plus.com/ Here are some pics of todays project.... Till next time, Curtis

I almost bought the AA armor and I'm glad I didn't. #1. price #2. I was able to get an AP untrimmed kit which can be put together the right way to look accurate enough, but will never be completely. Which is cool with me. #3. I was able to get a real leather holster. (thanks Mike TK-4510!) #4. I was able to get a nice canvas belt. (thanks firebladejedi!) #5. I was able to get a Skullworx kit for my bucket (AP helmet will be stunt) #6. I was able to get a set of Hovi-Mix Tips W/speakers (thanks Stomper!) #7. I was able to get a great underarmor W/neckseal. (thanks TK-4205!) #8. Dave's Videos ( thanks Dave for making it fun and inspiring to assemble our armor!) #9. The treasure I'm waiting to arrive is a TE ABS Hero, which I'm sure it will be awesome.(thanks TE!) #10. All of this was able to be aquired for the same amount of an AA kit! Thanks to everyone on these forums! Curtis
