  1. Hi guys I thought i would share my very 1st helmet build with you all. This is from a virgins point of view, never build a lid before from scratch ie trimming etc. One thing i would recommend to anyone is checking out Mike's TE2 build videos, it gave me the confidence to actually do this and his guide is awesome! Its an ATA and personally can't get over the detail in the face plate it takes my breath away. I have the armour as well but this thread will only be for the lid. Please be gentle ;p 1st up the helmet kit pre-trimmed: I took my hobby craft knife and also a pair of curved plastic cutting scissors and began trimming and also in the hard to get areas used the score and stap method (i couldn't believe how easy this method was). 1st up the Face plate: I know Mike (TK4510) marked up his eyes and teeth from the front but i used a lamp (shining it through from the front) and marked it with a pencil from the back - i also trimmed it used the score and snap method but cut it from the back as well. I did it this way as i felt more comfortable. I also trimmed the bottom and top of the face plate too, leaving the sides as they were. This is a more detailed phot of the teeth and eyes from inside the lid (the eyes and teeth have since been sanded down). Next the bumpy cap and back plate: I tried to follow the trimming lines but found these a little faint so i trimmed them and send pics to FBJ to take a look and with his advice trimmed them by a further 2-3mm and this is the result. Thanks for the help Mark Front: RHS: LHS: So next was the ears, now these i kind paniced on a little bit then thought bugger it time to bite the bullet. I trimmed these a good 3mm from the line then marked them up a little closer and used the score and snap method to bring it closer to the final line, leaving a wider gap around where the helmet tube area will fit to allow for extra trimming when it comes to fitting the whole helmet together. Ears: Next up will be the pieceing it all together...

  7. Hi Guys, my build is FX body and MRCE Lid. I know in some of the photos the bells look long but they have been modded and new pic included to reflect this. Caps put over the rivets on belt as well, MR modded as per UKG requirements. Modded Hasbro Blaster. I'm about 5 foot 6 so theres not much else to cut away now lol If i have left anything else out let me know. Cheers Mark
  8. Hi, requesting updated status. Cheers Mark. http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...hp?userID=10458
  9. From what i have seen posted already on this subject, i believe all already have their EI status but i think for someone like myself who has just been garrison cleared and done their suit to the EI requirements but not submitted it for approval yet this would def interest me. An Armourer or a designated expert person who could answer the questions on how do i put this bit together or if i seem to have a bit of a problem with something i can go and ask that person advice. Someone who has the knowledge on the EI requirements as opposed to just a general build for garrison clearance. I think a team of people would be good to go to for that advice as not everyone would have the confidence to make an open post for fear of being flamed and would rather have a more personal approach. Obviously if this were to happen those taking on the job would have to be someone dedicated to fulfilling the role but also be prepared to spend a little bit of time to do it also. Well thats ones newbies look at at anyway, hope you can make sense of all that Oh and i think i might have hit the 'Report' button instead of the add reply one...sorry :S
  10. Hi Dude, I got the same kinda problem with my FX as Colin will tell you, im about 5'6" not a big guy weight wise but because i have played a lot of football/soccer my thighs are quite big. We already took about an inch from the thigh and brought it in at the knee and i'm still struggling to lift it higher. Not much else i can do about it but grin and bear it (at least until i can get a better fitting armour). So ur not alone m8.
