  1. here it is, its a bit small isnt it? what do we reckon? im thinking its a rightie, so i could convert it (thanks for that link) but its still a bit small. can anyone put a pic up of their holster with hasbro inside? Is their a standardise sized? otherwise i could see me buying another one that is the same or too big or something like that.
  2. yeah ve seen those, they do look good
  3. OK, I wonder if i get home and put a couple of pics up maybe you guys can give me your opinion. ill include my half finished hasbro for sizeing. unless of course i get back and the holster is the wrong hand in which case ill throw my hands up and admit. should have bought the fx lite. (shoud have anyway i know) thanks garreth
  4. I am only wondering because I have seen threads about get your movie accurate holster etc, got me thinking was this another part of the fx suit to ditch? Ive got what i need to do with fixing, position etc put didnt want to put on a holster that id have to change. its smaller than others i have seen and of quite thick stiff leather (it looks like leather)
  5. can anyone confirm (or deny) that the holster supplied with the fx suit is not acceptable for elite. My hasbro blaster does just fit into it, I realise I have to change the way it fits to the belt but will it be accepted once that is done or should i source another one? I am going for anh elite. thanks Garreth
  6. I was thinking white spirit, its being repainted anyway, but i think superglue has been used in places and superglue remover says do not use on plastic. thanks for the heads up, i wonder what ill get if i google ooops!!!
  7. Having removed the neck and brow trim before painting, I am left with lots of glue residue and small bits of rubber stuck on, i could sand all this off but it seems a bit drastic and i can be a little heavy handed at the best of times. Just wondered what people used to remove this? thanks garreth
  8. Apparently you make a cut on the front piece to seperate the codpiece which is reattatched with velcro or white elastic. for elite status the back (bum) part is seperated also. there are posts on here which photograph how to do this, if you search on codpiece mods you should find them ok. I havent done this yet myself (avent got to that part yet) but am going to garreth
  9. I have some chelsea boots from the bay and have bought Angelus leather paint and patent shine. I did some research on some sneaker painting forums and this was the recommended paint for leather. Ill post when I get them done. Angelus is not supposed to flake, scuff or rub off and they were all banging on about how good it was in the forums. I got mine from fat budha in the uk garreth
  10. Further questions Have spoken to my tame paint shop who have advised me that a respray will get it looking the best so it looks like a full strip down, which means all the work I have done so far is to be undone. (gutted) but having said that the end results will make it worth. Further questions are as follows. Teeth - I have filed these out but not loads, I have cut out a bit more top and bottom to make the frown lines line up a bit better, but how much should I take out of the left and right? I have seen the photos of other peoples work but cant really see on them how much has been taken out. are people filing the curves on the outside of each tooth square? or is that too much. err, thats about it really. any thoughts would be helpful Garreth
  11. Hi everyone, I have tried searching on this subject but got over 2000 hits so if this is a repeat I apologise. The question is this. I have an fx suit I am seriously modding, I am aiming for elite status straight away (whilst an fx is accepted for this). my lid is going to be an mrce. Ignoring for my current purpose and cash level the fact that the lids symetrical ( its better then the fx in my opinion) and not quite right my question is this. My minimum personal requirement is new lenses, new tube stripes, cut down ears and filled in frown (with caulk and over painted in a suitable humbrol gloss white). Now is this enough for elite? The reason I ask is that I have the opportunity with a bit more work to fill in the frown properly, and get the whole lid resprayed but I have not decided whether the extra work is worth it if at some point in the future this helmet will be disallowed. Can I have some opinions on what people would do. Basically I dont really want to respray as I like the finish the lid has now unless I have to.
  12. test post to see if signature works, ignore everyone garreth
  13. I want one. That is amazing I have got to see that walking.
  14. Highlander, ( I was in a celtic reeactment society, my friend and I learnt all the fights move for move) braveheart (cant get it outa my system) batman (only some) spiderman, hulk x men, bladerunner, unforgiven, Alien, bladerunner, all the good vietnam films, most clint eastwood ( but for different reasons) lord of the rings, actually as I start this list I realise I could go on and on and on
  15. So for elite status, should we cover both sets or just the r/h side?
  16. Just checking on this, I read somewhere that the right side has an extra t track but the left has barrel holes open? also should we cut of the little sticky outy lugs next to the front barrel holes?
