Gundamzeppelin, did you make your belt 4 inches wide for anh?
-
Good job on the bittons, hey doesnt it look weird upside down, or would that be the right way up???
-
Ok a few have asked how i attatched the bits and bobs to my belt so here is how i did it. I am sure everyone will have their own way of doing things this is just how it was best for me.
I used 15mm camping snaps to hold on the holster, drop boxes and ammo belt and money clips for the thermal detonator as it is easy to remove everything for storage.
You can buy these in nickle or brass most wont be seen but i used nickle for the holster as seen on luke's belt after the trash compactor scene.
Use a normal drill to go through the section with the plastic insert, if you use a slow speed and are careful so you dont pull the canvas it will make a nice clean hole. The 15mm snaps are just long enough to go through.
For the drop boxes i used white nylon straps glued to the inside and put two snaps per box. You can then have the belt the right way up with holster to the left for ANH or to the right for ESB. The ammo belt covers the snaps.
For the ammo belt i used the same technique as fitting snaps to the rest of the armour. Cut out three small squares of abs, drill a hole through and fit the snaps. Then i glued one to each end and one in the middle of the ammo belt. I put the ammo belt in the centre of the belt.
This is what the belt looks like on the inside, a bit messy but no one will see it anyway.
Once you are finished it should look something like this....

Hi looking to upgrade your Stormtrooper armour with a canvas utility belt?
I am offering these canvas trooper belts for sale, despite what you may have read elsewhere the belts found in the Lucas Archives were made from canvas.
My belts are made from thick natural canvas that is very durable and lightweight and ideal for trooping and they are available in plain or white canvas. Also available in black for stealth troopers please ask for details.
I usually make these about 51 inches long to suit up to a 36 waist which includes about 8 inches of overlap roughly the width of your thermal detonator where they close at the back with velcro, but can make them any length to suit your needs. They are just over 3 inches wide making the canvas belt slightly thinner than the armour belt which is how the movie version was.
You just need to attach your armour belt, drop boxes and holster by your preferred method and you are ready for duty. You will receive a plain belt as seen in the picture, thanks for looking.
Priced at £15 each these work out at £18 delivered in the Uk and £22 everywhere else in the galaxy. I give postage discount for multiple purchases. I no longer ship to APO address' mainland home address only please.
Completion times may vary due to me not being a third world sweat shop, i do this in my spare time to help out troopers. This is not my real job

Looks very good , are you going to heat up the bells and pinch them or leave them as they are?
-
With regard to the belt, i think the rotj troopers had a narrower 2 inch nylon weave belt? I would agree that thermal dets and holsters are optional but the holsters worn on the r h s by loops. I think they were mainly removed for the ewok death scene
-
Heres a nice picture of the SE suits
-
I would say the bells are really pinched and the only way is to cut out the ab plate as i see it.

Very cool weapon! Nice and easy to handle. I just finished an MG-15 that I bought broken from a TD in our garrison, and repaired/ replaced some parts. Awesome looking but very cumbersome as you can't brace it against your body (just slides off).
This smaller blaster looks like a dream! Not trying to be a spoiler, but it was never on screen right? No way I could have missed it but maybe Uncle George sneaked it in for the special Edition. I still want one though

Only seen in the hands of Dr Evizan, Dr Ezivan or was it Dr Ester Ranson, or Ibinez or something...

Just a couple of pics of a comlink to show the hoxi mics , hope this is not too off topic
-
The binders in rotj are grey and thick plastic looking with the blocks added this may be why people make binders as the tutorials..
Not a great pic but

I got my mic tips from Keith here in the uk and they are very nice clean casts, very happy with them

I have cut off my cod on my fx kit along the same line as the bottom of the belt but you cannot see the join when wearing the armour. I also changed the angle of the bottom horizontal part so its more like the other kits, going up at angle. May have to post a pic to show you what i mean.

I have to sign in quite frequently, i can never remember my password either...
-
I never realised the esb trooper buckets had a big StarWars logo on the back, guess i should watch the dvd again to check
-
This is my first set of armour ( FX ) so im happy with it so far, i want to replace the lid with something else before i have even essembled it, and if i had the spare cash i think i would get some AP armour, it looks really nice.
But with other expensive costumes on the go ( Vader ) i think i will stick with what i have, after all it looks like a trooper

Looking good
