    E-11

So a while back I ordered an airsoft e11 replica. It hasn’t shipped yet and was pre ordered. As I get close to finishing my armor I have started looking at that bit and came across this discussion:

Toward the end it sounds like they are basically saying the airsoft version of the e11 is no bueno for Centurion L3. So should I cancel the order? I don’t want just a 3D printed blaster. I want something with some heft to it. Which the airsoft has as it’s not plastic. I have no idea how long I’m going to have to wait for it to even arrive in the states to be shipped to me so I feel like if I’m going to change gears I need to do it now. But I need some guidance on options that will pass muster but not be even more expensive than the airsoft which was like $450.

    Thanks for input.

    Hi Bryan,

As Joseph rightly pointed and as the discussion thread you added , even though the Airsoft E11 blaster wouldn't be approvable just  as it came out of the box and some modifications would be needed.

Our recommendation is that you consider to change the Blaster for another one approvable for higher levels. Sadly we don't have a wide list of vendors for Metal or  Rubber Blasters but the Joseph's recommendation is a good choice.

Personally, I prefer the look where the bottom is more snug to the top of my knee and the ridge is angular, but it's all contingent on what is garrison approvable. As always, I appreciate any input!

Hi Jonathan. You are right. We have looked at the different options and we believe that the best option is the one you mention (the bottom is more snug to the top of your knee and the ridge is angular). And as Glen rightly pointed out, mobility cuts can help with appearance.:duim:

However, it is your GML who must approve it at the base level, so before making any modifications, you will have to ask him for his opinion about it. :jc_doublethumbup:

Keep it up Jonathan, you are doing a fantastic job... Congratulations!!!!:th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

Looking to submit a centurion next. Besides return edges described anything further needed?

    Hi Erick,

Glad to read you're planning to continue the process towards Centurion Level  .

Due to your EIB application his 7 years old,  and in order to give you the best advice upon the additional requirements to achieve your goal, we would need you to add

a new set of photos so we can review the current armor state, How it fits you and in general how it looks.

You can post the new photos here,  into the Request TK Pre-Approval section  or you could submit your Centurion Application and make the requested fixes in it.

You can find the required photos HERE .

So is it approvable...? I'd love input from the @Deployment Officer Team, but at Basic, I'd say yes - just as the previous Anovos OT offering was, and that the mic tips would need to be replaced for EIB at a minimum, then additional small notes as below.

    Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.

      Helmet
    • ✔ Traps (trapezoids on dome of helmet) and tears (area beneath the corners of eye lenses) are gray.
    • ✔ Rear traps and tears have vertical black lines.
    • ✔ Lenses are flat material, green in color, sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes.
    • ✔ The “ear” bars have three or four bumps and are gray or painted gray, with a black outline. Painting the bumps with rank stripes (highlighted) in black is optional.
    • ✔ Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. A total of 8 cut outs in the teeth area of the frown are present.
    • ✔ Tube stripes are medium blue, numbering between 9 and 16 per side with the curve bends extending backwards.
    • ✔ Vocoder (vertically ribbed chin detail) is painted black.
    • ✔ Aerators/Hovi-MIX tips (cylinders on either side of the vocoder) are black or painted black.
    • ✔ Tears, traps, and tube stripes may be hand painted, decals, or decals that replicate hand painted.
    • ✔ Mesh may be used behind the frown to obscure the face of the wearer.
    • ✔ Note: The helmet is accurate in detail and proportion to official references.
      • ✔ Many commercially available helmets or those considered disproportionate in size or shape are ineligible.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):
    • ✔? Ears shall have three screws per side, one above and one below the ear bar and one at the base of the helmet.
    • Ear bars have four bumps only.
      • Not three.
    • Traps/tears and tube stripes shall have the correct ANH TK details.
    • Ideally, the tube stripes are positioned approximately a pencil width from the side of the cheek.
    • Fall of tube stripe tops ideally lean toward the front.
    •  Correct Aerators/Hovi-MIX tips are present. Screens used shall be of a wide type mesh, with the rim of the mic and the inside white or painted white.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):
    • Ear bars shall have only one bump painted in black (rank stripes).
    •  Ideally, placement of ears (and screws) should closely follow the rear angle of the trap above them
    • Neck trim shall be of an s-type profile rather than a u-type profile.
    • Tears/traps shall be hand painted or use decals that emulate hand painted (with correct ANH TK details).
    • ✔? Ear screws shall be slotted, flat topped, countersunk and painted white.
    • The vocoder must be integrated into the helmet, and not a separate piece.

Vocoder would likely need repaint to better define arches on each "tube".

Frown would likely need repaint to extend paint to last tooth before the end "V".

Mic tips would need the interior and lip painted white, though the mesh has been corrected from previous Anovos offerings.

The third, bottom ear screw is not visible and is covered by the neck trim on both sides. It is unknown at this time if it is also a slotted, countersunk screw, but assumed as the trim lays flush. The trim is super glued in place and I was not able to peel it back to check.

The ear screws does not follow the rear angle of the trap above them (but I think this is a dumb rule anyways, personally).

    Hi Justin,

As you rightly noted , the helmet could be  approvable for Basic Level (this is up to the GML) and the items  you marked for EIB and Centurion are correct. Regarding the 3rd,  bottom ear screw, this is the first time we read that  the trim is super glued that you can't see the screw type. This issue will probably have to be corrected before applying for Higher levels.

The ear screws alignment (following the rear angle would be ideally preferred) is noted as a suggestion.

As a side note: The brow trim lines make it to  look rough , this not in stated in the crl (not yet) but could be just mentioned by the D.O. making a review.

    I need advice.

When it comes to mobility cuts... This is my left thigh. For L2/L3 approval, the cuts can not extend above the raised edge. In my case the armor protrudes away from the back of the leg all the way up to the raised edge. Will I be ok with taking off the edge this far up???

    57oGhwv.jpeg

For info... The cuts are being made because of this flaw in the armor NOT for mobility reasons. Though I'm sure this does not matter.

Sorry for delaying trooper. fortunately we the D.O. are not alone having such amazing group  of  people willing to help and make real our moto "Troopers Helping Troopers"

Glad the recommended solutions  made the deal !!  :th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

@gmrhodes13 I am at a loss on what to do with the belt, I'm thinking of removing stitches along the top and bottom of the cloth belt and cut it down so it matches the inner most 45 degree angles, but then I worry about the rivets that's on the ammo belt, I'm thinking if there is a way of fixing this without removing any rivets?

    Hi Jonatan .

As Glen suggested you could trim a little the ends of the plastic belt to match better the cloth one.

You could add a plate on top of the one already there so it matches the kidney, unfortunately RS don't always make their armor to match the CRL's but this seamless requirement is nothing new and many have had to make the modification to obtain L3 centurion.

You may be ok for L2 EIB but that's entirely up to the @Deployment Officer Team as it is stepped the way it is.

Thanks Glen, we'll be  giving the support to Jonathan.   :salute:

  8. Hi Georgia :salute:

We apologize for the delay in reviewing your Centurion application, but unfortunately we cannot proceed and get that Centurion badge under your name until all the L3 requirements are met.  Please post up the updated photos and we will get right on it!

These are the things (as listed in your E.I. review) that need to be corrected so that we can move along....

    1.  The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. Also, drop boxes should be vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box.

                                                                                                                                                                                        Reference images

     58a67XS.png            4GuP9LA.png                               gNocrxt.png   ysP3Qmm.png

    2.  The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels.

                                                                                                                                                 Reference images

    jJMGFFB.png?1                         Q2X9NlL.jpg     xxczAhe.jpg

    3. The back was overlapping your kidney quite a bit, so it looks like you have lowered the kidney.  This has caused the back plate to go too low, covering the upper thighs. The bottom of the back needs to be trimmed (no return edge, like Luke's,). Thus, the back plate can be raised a little and everything will return to its correct place.

    4.  In your E.I. app the cover strips on the thighs were perfect.  However, in the new app the right one is facing to the side. We need new photos where the cover strip is correctly positioned...

    5. We also need you to include an updated close-up photo of the of the ab/kidney connection (no belt, and without overlapping ). Something like this...

    xW5eSAC.jpg

That's all Georgia...We know it's a little extra work, but we're confident that you'll be able to make all these fixes, and thus get the Centurion badge under your name.:jc_doublethumbup:

  9. Hi again, Jessie!  After discussion among the D.O. staff, and because of the lapse (3 years) we need a favor to move you along and get that Centurion badge under your name.  Please set aside an hour or so and take all new photos (you can post them on this thread).  An updated list of the ones we will need can be found here.  The sizes of the ones you posted in 2018 are PERFECT :jc_doublethumbup:.

Many thanks, and we look forward to seeing the new pics so we can get started.
