  1. I talked to a friend lately about that. Actually, Light bleaches (the UV section). But most windows don't let UV in. The main cause for yellowing is oxygen (and other reactive oxygen species) and smoking. The thinner the platic, the soon it will turn yellow
  2. Depends on the size. But you need cardstock, glue, fiberglass and cloth, LOTS of Bondo, sand paper. and TIME. If you want an entire suit, it will quickly add up.
  3. I could use some; for my windows, to keep the flies out!
  4. Thanks, Jim! Now I know what these are called! ----------
  5. It really has to be a clean and accurate build, i.e."movie quality costume". Better check with your local garrison first who will carry out your application but doing it this way, you'll spend much much more than buying a kit.
  6. Yes, it soakes up the sweat (i.e. perspiration and transpiration), it tames wild hair, it's screen accurate, no need for ugly black mesh in your helmet, etc, etc I recently bought a couple to try out (they're used with the latex neck seal) and plain cotton types are the best
  7. For reference: ESB: sticky black stuff Actually, you don't want to glue allthe way. As you can see in ANH, there's a little gap, which lets the air flow and prevents fogging. The same with ESB: there's no black stiff on the upper edge of the eyes. Just let the air flow....
  8. Well, it fits the topic. For those who don't believe me: Black sticky stuff aka wheel balancing putty. screen accurate for ESB, cheap, easy removable. and did I say "screen accurate"? -----------
  9. That I did, but that's not, as you said, SCREEN ACCURATE.
  10. As far as I know: ANH: ear screws ESB: black sticky stuff (It's called that way!) ROTJ: (hot) glue Prequels:CGI
  11. no. did you? I'd love to be corrected!
  12. They also wear FX armor. Neither is accurate! Where did you get this crazy idea? This is utter nonsense!
  13. Measuring yourself is easy!
  14. Don't use mesh.It isn't accurate. What are you using for lenses? If it's a strip, secure it with the ear screws!
  15. Not really. We still don't know the make of underwear and what brand of cigarrettes the bridge trooper had hidden in his crotch...
  16. That's the spirit! Troopers helping troopers(' pets)
  17. Doh! But you can hardly call them "plates", can't you?
  18. Great news!
  19. Thanks, Steve! It's no secret that I terribly suck with sculpting; I can't even make a clay ashtray. This is all trial and error for me. So I made me (yet) another tool, to get those ribs right. (I tried about 8 different methods so far) Sorry, for the blurry pic, but I hope you'll "get the picture". IT's still free hand, but I think I've "nailed it" I obvioulsy need a guide to make them straight; I'm scuplting the "bib" next.
  20. I'm glad the operation went well! Give her a big cuddle from me when you see her!
  21. Awesome suit! I have to say the RS hand guards look a little... off...shape and color wise. I know, I may be biased, but still...
  22. fabric snap plates? huh? where have you seen that?
  23. That's why it says "unclaimed" in my Pp account!
