    Hello,

So, I tried to make an ANH storm trooper kit like 10 years ago, and I never finished it. I still have all the armor, and I want to get rid of it/sell it to a person who will value it and complete it and use it. It's like a half finished ANH RT Panda kit with all the parts needed to finish. I really don't want to just throw it out.

I don't have an affiliation with a detachment or whatever, so filing to get access to buying and selling seems like its not possible? Any advice on what to do here, I don't want to just throw it away, and it'd be nice to just hand it off to someone in the UK.

    Best,

    Isabel

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure there is a member or two in the UK that might be willing to help you out. If none of them reach out to you, let me know and I'll chat with you about shipping to the States.

  2. Okay, after some time off working on other projects, I'm back on working on building my DDD's AM 5.0 to at least EI.

So I'm at the point i need some feedback. I need shims between the kidney and Ab plates. I measured the distance between the two and cut some shims, matched them up to the kidney and glued in some back strips. So am I on the right path?

secondly, I don't remember which bicep is the left/right and which forearm is left right. My ATA kit had the thumb print on both biceps, and I though the forearm with the more curve was the right one.

    Pictures below.

    Ab/Kidney shims.

One thing that I am noticing in the photo of your belt is that the canvas belt appears to not be lining up with the 45 degree cut outs on the corners of the ABS belt.  It could just be a perspective issue on the photo if the canvas belt has dropped away from the ABS one.  If you are aiming for Centurion, then you may need to trim the corners a bit as shown below.

L3 CRL: "The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt."

I'm only chasing EI, but I'll look at making the adjustments, just in case. ;)

  4. Epoxy set and it seems pretty secure.
My thanks to @TheRascalKing, I shall soon have the smaller resin parts.

I threw the one ear that I got to print on it just to see how it would look (I have attempted to print the ears 12 times in different orientations and only one was successful, so Boo FDM printing)

Still needs more sanding and paint, but we are getting there.8024e52dd646da970c9a5d8949683fcd.jpg5e2b10cc46e959da56319cb3d644e455.jpg

  5. I use the score and snap method, which is trace the line you want to cut multiple times with a razor knife, the bend and snap it off.

I also use a pair of curved lexan scissors. I picked them up on Amazon, but you can get them at most hobby stores.

I hesitate using the dremel as it is easy to take plastic away, but much harder to add it back, plus the speed of the dremel produces heat and will some times melt plastic instead of cutting it.

    But YMMV.

  6. It is certainly a curious idea. I'm intrigued. And would 2nd Glen's comment. Maybe try making one if the smaller pieces as a test and see what it looks like. Maybe hand guards or the cod pieces.

Looking forward to what you come up with.

  7. As I'm building an 850 Armor works kit currently, I'm running in to some issues with other part. So I figured I would share some help and ask some questions.

I saw someone was asking about lenses for their helmet. I didn't see them on the resources list, so I figured I would share them here.  Mr. Paul sells lenses for the Desert Fox (Nico Henderson) helmet. You can find more info on Mr Paul's Shoretrooper Build page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/totalgrunt

I just commissioned a resin printing of this helmet for myself as my FDM versions were not looking great and I've order a pair of lenses from him.

I'm seeking the difference in the neck seal. The CRL shows a picture of the TK_ANH_stunt one.

I Thought the R1TK one was different. I saw a post on here with a version that has ribbing on the part that lays on the chest as well.

  8. Cadet 3040 here,
Could someone tell me what the best undersuit would be to purchase for my build...
    Thanks
    Hey Jeff.
I use a two-piece compression suit I got off Amazon. It is like Under Armor just a different brand.

    Pants

I also have a pair of smooth long underwear for troops in colder months.

  9. After multiple attempts to print, build and finish the helmet myself on my CR-10 and Elegloo Neptune 3, I've commissioned a resin version from a recommendation made by @TheRascalKing, so we'll see how that turns out. I'm looking to order soft goods still. I've reached out to @Soulart with Geeky Pink's Phantastic Gaskets as Teresa aways does amazing work. So I be working with her for at least the under suit.

I did just buy a "new to me" Elegloo Saturn 4k, so I'm looking forward to being able to print some smaller parts in resin once I figure out how the resin printer works vs my FDM printers.
