    Date: 10-06-2019

Buddy walk is always fun.  Last year went as Vader, which was fun, but I think I was avoided quite a bit since I was 'scary'.  TKs looked like they were having much more fun, so decided to do TK this year.  Was a good decision!

We had a really large turnout this year, which overloaded our roster list!  A great problem to have.

Made a lot of new buddies.  Hard to see down, but you make due.

    Event: Seattle Pride Parade

    Date: 06-30-2019

    Garrison:  Titan

Another pretty large event for Garrison Titan!  I think we had the most members show up for a Pride Parade this year I think, but got no way to confirm that.  Just what the ol'timers were saying.  Was glad I could lend my support, almost ended up being one of two TK's but the word went out and we got a few more!  People REALLY love the TKs.

Didn't have a lot of color, but luckily some other TK had a flag I could borrow as a 'cape' and I got a sticker.  Will need to invest in some not too sticky colored tape for next time.

So we start by Seattle Center and suit up in a parking garage there, then 'take over' the Monorail to the parade.  Watching people on the Monorail and looking up at it is really fun.  They freak out.

Chewbacca has some height challenges, but he made it work.  I was very stupid and thought I'd show off that I could sit as a TK.  Oops, ended up with at least 3 cracks around my lower back and buttplate.

Boss wasn't too impress with my sitting.  Other passengers were pretty impressed with him!

I think someone brought a drone, but wasn't sure.  No idea how this was taken.

Teamed with another TK and did some rounds.  Lot's of Star Wars Fans, young:

    And Old:

Parade was a LOT of fun.  Kind of goes by in a blur and with a crowd that big, you really kind of get intimidated and a little confused.  Some of the other's that had done it before seemed to know what to do, so just copied them a lot of the time.

Mission accomplished.  Hung out at the end with some of the remaining TKs and let people get some pictures on the way out.  Was tons of fun and weather wasn't super hot.

Probably the largest event I've been to so far.  Was pretty wild.  Needed a cheesy pose with the cape.  : )

This was a pretty big event, and had pretty good turn out.  The weather was a bit muggy, but once we got into the Stadium the breeze was real nice.

A little smaller crowd turnout than last year, but that was probably because the Mariners were in a bit of a slump.

I'm the TK just to the back of Vader.  Luckily he was taller than I am.

    Found some miniature versions.

Some were a little scared, but the Ewok always seemed to be able to get them to come for pictures.

Only real issue I had was the garter system snaps on my right thigh kept popping loose when we would move.  Went ahead and just put some E6000 in the snaps so the straps stay on the thigh.  Don't really see a reason to remove the straps as they just velcro around the belt.

E11 just looks so small,  Might start packing the DLT-19 again in the future.

  4. Bounty Hunters, we don't need their scum!

    Hey Greg!

I've got a lot of leftover TK build supplies if you need some. If you need clamps, magnets, E6000, strapping, elastic, rivets, snaps, etc let me know. I way overbought supplies when I did mine.

If you need some let me know.

  5. Welcome Cameron! Looking forward to trooping with you! Try and make it to a Monthly Meet and Greet if you can. You can also sign up as a handler before you get an approved TK if you want to checkout events.

If you are registered on the Garrison Titan Forums, the Washington Summer Con June 15-16 would be a good non-costume volunteer opportunity.

    Who made the Probe Droid?

Greg Smith from Garrison Titan.  He also did the Luke ANH Land Speeder.

Did it all from photographs, and I guess he got the scale almost spot on, at least according to a ex-ILM employee that came through our booth at ECCC.

He just got an Anovos kit so maybe he'll be doing a TK build on here soon.

First day of the Comic Con.  Did the morning Line Duty which was fun.  Then filled in for some Blast a Trooper (unfortunately no pictures from that yet).

Ewok got all the hugs!  T_T

The Garrison Titan Booth was really great!  First con I've done, and couldn't believe some of the Props.

Had really bad rain all day and everyone was worried that it'd be a washout.  The rain letup just in time however!

Of course, rain isn't much concern to a TK.  Some of the other costumes might have had more problems.

An Ewok showed up and really wanted to get it's pictures.  Had to put it back into the Zoo.

Boss showed up.  Saber looks really good at night.

Rode off in circles when it was all done.

Some creaking, but nothing broke when I got mounted.  Was a little worried I'd crack something, but it was all good!

All set with my AM2.0 TK so first troop was to the Seattle Symphony Planets which they played some Star Wars.
The Symphony Players did costumes even.

TubaPlayer actually played as Kylo Ren.  Impressive.

Did a walk out during the concert and had a spotlight on us.  Was pretty hard to see with a light in your face, but went really well.

Then did pictures with folks as it was letting out.  Really quick troop but was a good test run after I did some of the EIB modifications.

We even got mentioned in the local Classical Radio station the next morning.  I guess we made a impression on one of the announcers who was there that night.

  10. Got straps doubled over now and drying.

Marked the locations for new side strap holes based on the measurements. Looks like all three need to shift up.

Going to test some abs paste that I'd use to fill the holes on a coverstrip first before I start the side strap move. Want to be able to fill the old holes and make it blended before cutting new ones.dd70d8f5bdad6606fb8c9afb6afdd90f.jpg9b8fc02329f3d16211ec024571b9535b.jpg

  11. Nice work, just to really make you look the part you may want to change your shoulder elastic to a stronger one or try doubling over, you can see your elastic being pulled sideways, almost touching the shoulder bells.

I would also suggesting trying to bring your mic tips down, they look to be pointing upwards. This can be achieved by adding some rubber tube, if you cut one side straight and the other on an angle (like a wedge), you can then add to the base of the mic tip and rotate to get them to point a little better.

    Good luck with approval

Alright got the mic tips adjusted. Put a little triangle of padding behind the top of the back and it points slightly down instead of up now.

Going to double over the shoulder elastic next, it pulls out with only one layer.
