  1. Good luck! I just got approved with my TM kit (had him build my bucket too). There are several TM build threads here, including mine if you're interested. When in doubt, just ask on your thread or PM somebody. I've had nothing but good responses from people here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. With the knee/sniper plates being on the left knee, and the holster on the left side, I always assumed TK's were intended to be lefties. This will make for awkward troops for me as I shoot right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. TK-51730 requesting access https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=27676 Thanks
  4. I'm looking to put my fans in front like what I've seen here. The problem is that the fans have a flat surface and the inside of the helmet is all curves and rounded surfaces. My fans from Henry Ford came with velcro, but with the different surfaces, there's not much contact. What did others do for mounting your fans? I've got a big noggin', so a mount like Joseph's isn't going to work for me!
  5. Thanks everybody. And thanks TM for posting that frown grouping. I was looking for it last night and couldn't find it. I'll be submitting to my GMLs today and will let everybody know how it goes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for the input. For the lenses, they are mostly touching the edge around the eyes. There might be a trick with the lighting/reflection off the lens, but I'll take a look and secure it closer if I can. For the thigh, I'll be sure to straighten it for future photos. I just missed it when reviewing my photos. The bicep elastic is there - it's just high up on the bicep and blends in with my shirt. As for the helmet, I'll take a look at some reference photos. TM finished the helmet for my build, so maybe he'll chime in here as well. Thanks again!

  8. Thanks! I'm hoping to go L3 eventually.
  9. Yeah, I noticed the bicep alignment as I was taking everything off. I'll be sure to fix that for my submission photos. I'll take a look at the right arm spacing as well to even them out. Thanks for the input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Here it is, for your review! Feedback, please! I can take close-ups if anyone wants to see something closer. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I got a message back from TM. It's right as it is. His FB page points out that the right side is longer than the left, so I wanted to check before trimming it down. Thanks TM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Shins hiccup. I'm trying to line up the knee plate but the right side doesn't line up. I've PM'ed TM, but does anybody have any suggestions in the meantime? Left side lines up great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Gloves are done! E6000 peeled off the rubber as soon as I moved them, and CA glue just soaked into the fabric backing on the back of justjoseph's hand guards (which are excellent, BTW). What worked was this: the E6000 from my first attempt had stuck onto the fabric backing and wouldn't come off. The CA glue stuck to the gloves and that E6000. I accidentally found something that worked! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm hoping to get my shins and TD done in the next couple of days. I'll do some full kit shots with everything on, and I hope to get some feedback. Thanks for taking a look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I got my neck seal and holster from Darman (Darman's Props on FB I believe). I had to modify the bib a bit, but the neck part is the tricky part to sew and they did a nice job. Check the threads for ongoing sales. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. A few more things to check on the to-do list: My boots arrived from Imperial Boots. Shipping from Hong Kong to Wisconsin was less than a week! They feel great and now I can size the shins. Front strips are drying now. Shoulder bridges are on. I can't remember whose tip it was, but gluing the extra ABS under the first, large bumps made a big impact on surface area to glue to the chest plate. Canvas belt is assembled, including plastic inside to prevent dropping at the holster, and drop boxes and holster installed. Gloves, TD, and helmet interior coming soon. 17. While I'm on the belt: how much overlap do others have in the back? I've seen as high as 9" of velcro. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I followed the post you referred to on TM's FB Hero build. I had the canvas belt snapped to the torso, lined up the plastic belt, and marked the middle. I riveted the center, wrapped around the left side, and riveted the left side. I failed to check both sides for alignment before riveting the center and left side. Since the extra hole in the canvas and the hole in the ab will be covered, I guess it's not that bad of a hiccup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ran into an issue tonight. As I was fitting the belt together to mark for rivets, it didn't lay flat against the ab. Turns out the snap hit the back of the ABS, not one of the voids behind the belt. Looks like I'll need to relocate both the male and female end of the snap and plug a hole in the ab. Bummer. 20. I just heard back from the seller - not Centurion approved. Is it generally okay to troop with a "lower-quality" blaster? I've read posts about others keeping their meticulously built blasters for display so they don't get dropped on a troop, but there was no mention of what they used instead. 21. I'm getting to the final stages of my ANH Stunt armor build, and I'm starting to think about an E11 Blaster. The builds on here look very difficult, and the skill level is way above mine. I'm following a couple builds from guys who are self-proclaimed novices, like me, so I'm hoping they will boost my courage. Here's what I'm thinking: Can I get a cheap, finished blaster so I can start trooping with it, then order a Doopy's with T-Jay's completion set? I found a finished one on ebay (I know, buyer beware) that's only $30 that is claimed to be 501st approved. If it will tide me over until I can build my own, I don't mind spending the extra 30 bucks. Here's a link to the ebay listing:- - - -- EBAY I've messaged the seller to see what level it's approveable to. I'm unable to tell from the pictures, and because I'm such a novice. Thanks! Jeremy
  22. Feedback please! Here's what I have so far: I'm waiting on my boots so no shins yet. I picked up duck canvas to try my luck at a belt. Shoulder bridges will go on if I get a green light from the group. TD is on the schedule for next week. Please let me know what you think. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. A few little updates: My rivets and silicone hand guards arrived from justjoseph (thanks!). Does anybody have a good way to get rid of the smell of the black rubber gloves? The rivets are installed in the torso and ammo pack: The ab buttons need some trimming for size and will then be ready to glue on: I have the shoulder bells, biceps, and forearms all linked up and ready to connect to the shoulder straps: My neck seal and holster from Darman are scheduled to be delivered today. I'll try to suit up later and have some photos posted for feedback. I still need a belt, so I'll be digging into the sales area to find a good one later too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Good point about the belt. I'm concerned about passing EIB or Centurion, and I've seen others' submission photos where they line up perfectly, and that's what I was shooting for. I'll get everything put together and see how it looks. Thanks again!
  25. Here are the left and right sides as the armor is hanging. Not bad for gaps and alignment. My back side pushes out the butt and kidney, so the gap increases at the bottom of the ab-kidney joint and decreases and overlaps at the top of that joint. Like I mentioned, probably time for fewer chips. With the kit on: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
