What an inspirational thread- man you made that look awesome!! Wow!
-
Excelent Paul, one step closer to locating the exact suit.
The suit in these photos still resides with its owner by the way.
What is he going to do with it?
-
Really looking forward to it Brian.

Nice one mate- your hard work rewarded. I'm assuming you will you paint them.
-
Congratulations mate!
-
That is not a great suit- and is over priced.
Have a look around and do a bit of research you'll soon start to discover alternative options.
BTW Welcome!
-
Happy Birthday mate!

I would love for you guys to come visit and maybe even troop with us over here. I've trooped in the US ( at Dragon con) and I love it when we are able to offer the same hospitality that everyone offered me at DC.
And you can get Chelsea boots lol!
On a serious note if anyone is thinking of visiting London make sure you lmk so I can make sure the trip is a good one.
-
I'm amazed because they are so easy to get here and cheaply, I have seen them as cheap as £10!
-
With the greatest respect Joe I think it is more than a little unfair to suggest that Colin ruined this for everyone. Colin , although not a member here to my knowledge, adopted the 'troopers helping troopers' and shared his find with like minded individuals in order to try and help move this hobby forward. It became quite apparant that the owner was well aware of what he had and in fact was using Colin to test the water but it somewhat backfired on him. Colin in his niaviety had little idea of the importance of posting these pics or the value of their content and did so with nothing but the best intentions.

Its really all about cost. We here in the states get held over a barrel when playing the exchange-rate game. Its not that there isn't beautiful and quality products coming out of the U.K, its just that I can save a lot of extra cash buying locally in these cash strapped times.
Are you saying you can't buy Chelsea boots in the US?
-
I , as i'm sure Billy does , know what you are saying but the question is why are you saying it Vern??? What is the point? The reason they make the TK boots is there is a massive gap in the market, the same cannot be said for black chelsea boots- you can get those easily and fairly cheaply.

Looking forward to seeiing it in the flesh mate.
-
WOW! That looks amazing mate! Paul and Pete have really raised the bar for this hobby this year with their abillity to recreate the screen used look.
-
Wow that is actually quite impressive for a scratch build, kudos to the guy.
-
Slight hijack - could you guys stop quoting weachothere all the time it plays hell when I am looking from my phone
Now back to my original point- when are we going to see you suit up trooper?
-
Nicely put my friend.
To coin a phrase
'A day long remembered'
I will always remember where I was when I heard the news and my disbelief and shock at what was happening. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those people that lost someone on that day and since.

That would be so awesome! I was planning taking my current pair of white tk-boots and asking my local shoe cobbler if he thought it would be possible to dye them black and get them to shine.
Either way this would be a great solution to the over priced TX boots that I have seen available so far.
I'm sure it would be easier to just buy a pair of black Chelsea boots, that way you don't risk the white showing through.
-
Dan have you considered getting a new cest and back and trimming them like Luke's?
-
Wonderful armor! I really envy you. But I'd change the boots with black painted into white ones to make the armor 100% accurate. It is a pity to see a 99% accurate job, isn't it?
He has done that now and there is a thread somewhere I think.
-
You guys look great I wish I could have been there! Hopefully we will see you at FACTS.
-
That is going to be one impressive mannequin mate!
Great job on the boots Steve.
