1. Hi Eric and welcome to FISD! Congrats on your armor purchase. Celebration was a blast and the 501st certainly made a huge splash as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure there will be many new members like yourself coming here in the coming week. Anovos did have a nice display up and congrats on your armor purchase. One of the biggest things I can tell you is to read through this forum as much as you can. Check out the many Anovos build threads and you will find tons of build tips. Have fun!

    Hello,

I agree, they did as they have done so in my eyes every Celebration. As an aside, it is concerning that we do not know when/where the next Celebration is to look forward to. Anyways, I have done so and will continue to. Anovos did finally wear me down after several years of contemplation.

  2. Hello,

While I realize, to my knowledge, the microphone is not required at the lower levels, I would like to acquire one. I am starting my first ANOVOS, TK kit and am gathering the materials before my costume even arrives in the Fall. It seems like a process that deems these preemptive necessary. Anyways, I found this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D4OWKNI/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1492380409&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=akers+voice+amplifier&dpPl=1&dpID=41mTc-G3cCL&ref=plSrch

Is this any good, or am I completely on the wrong track? I also heard of apps for iOS that have a Star Wars voice modifier provided I have a splitter. Any suggestions? Thanks!

3. Greetings,

My name is Eric. I currently reside in Stuart, Florida; however, I will be moving to Fort Myers come this August. I am currently in attendance of the Orlando Star Wars Celebration which is my 4th time attending Celebration. I have long admired the 501st, and, honestly speaking, have also long considered my potential membership little more than a dream as opposed to a practical scenario. Yet I have just purchased a TK costume from ANOVOS at the discounted rate. The kit will be arriving sometime this fall when I am in Fort Myers. The following is a brief (not comprehensive) list of my inquiries:

1) I have already purchased an E-11 from: https://www.etsy.com/listing/260677904/stormtrooper-blaster-star-wars-bounty?ref=hp_rvaftermodest research of the store. I do not plan to continue my builidng process with haste, but is this weapon acceptable from the looks of it?

2) How much more money am I looking at spending? I have reviewed a few threads on this site and am frankly intimidated. I know the boots are not included in the kit. Where could I go about getting them?

3) I am in college currently. I plan on being a straight A, full-time student with a small part-time job (~15 hours/wk). Am I getting myself in over my head? What squad is availible in Fort Myers (Is it Tampa?) and how long are armor nights each month?

4) Since this is my first costume plus a newcomer, how much help could I expect from other Legion members? I do not intend to sound cynnical. In high school, I was not apart of any clubs and am not in college. I am not familiar with the dynamic. Are tools and scraps offered at armor nights generally?

I appreciate anyone's help on this matter. Despite my reservations, I am looking forward to being an active member and participant. Any advice is welcomed. My email is ericelg81@yahoo.com. I am pretty open so feel free to contact me. I will provide other modes of communication via email happily. Thank you.
