  1. Sorry to interrupt, but is there a reason the ROTJ TK CRl is missing the images and description for the helmet? Are there being changes made or something? http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rotj
  2. Thanks for all the close ups, it really allows for a better look at the armor. Now that you mentioned it, the chest box definitely looks like a TIE pilot box, I can't believe that I didn't notice that earlier. But I don't know the difference between the ANH TIE and the ROTJ TIE chest box, so we'll need confirmation on that. However that pack looks completely unfamiliar to me, it looks like someone is going to have to make it from scratch. Since you play the game, could you possibly get a few images of just the pack? Also that Mohawk is going to be interesting to see done, since there isn't a TK that has had one yet, so it'll have to be a scratch build too. But as for the armor itself, it looks distinctly ROTJ to me, which is also the same armor used in the rest of the game. Notice the u trim around the torso, pinched shoulders, connected kidney and butt plate, and the helmet. The helmet has bubble lenses, and the frown is painted all black, its also got a taller appearance. All of these are features of the ROTJ TK: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rotj I'm also going to rename this thread to "Rocket trooper CRL discussion" to see if we can get a CRL going.
  3. side note: I'm putting this here as I'm not sure where else to put it, feel free to move it if necessary. Ok, so this is kind of old news, and I'm sure many of you know this already, but there is a new variant of a jump trooper. I've searched this forum to see if there was any discussion about it yet, and to my surprise, there wasn't. Since it is a cannon variant of the storm trooper, I think it should be necessary to discuss it, and possibly, if someone is up to the task, build it and make a CRL. Now I am pretty inexperienced about this, as I am kind of new to the forums, and haven't even finished my first build yet, but I thought I should at least bring up the topic. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, i'll put some pictures at the end of this post. Now it seems there are two main versions of this trooper, a star wars rebels version and a ROTJ version from BF2.
  4. Thank you very much for all the help, I'll get to sizing it immediately.
  5. Ok, so I got my CFO Rotj tk armor kit a little while ago, and I have been working on it day and night trimming, gluing, etc. This halloween I was able to wear my armor for the first time (with R1 black series helmet and black tape to hold it together because I'm doing strapping last, followed by the actual helmet, and have not got there yet). Although it is far from finished, one thing I noticed seemed like a real problem, the legs. I could hardly walk, and the knee plate kept getting stuck under the thigh, I had no knee space. However I was handing out candy so it was not too much of an issue at the time. But this is my dilemma: I don't know what was causing this, are the thighs to big? or the shins? or both? or could it have just been the last minute straps being too long? I just need some help on what to do about this. Overall however I am certainly pleased with the result of my work so far and how it is turning out, and I can't wait until I can join the ranks of the 501st. Ill post the pics below, and if you could help me out that would be great. Also if you notice anything else off about my armor, please let me know. Thanks in advance! -Eric
  6. Thank you guys very much for all the help, because of you I have been able to purchase a CFO ROTJ kit
  7. Hello, I'm rather new to this site and have been wanting to have my own set of armor since I was a kid. I have been looking for 501 approved armor for a while, but as a a junior in high school, I can't really spend one thousand dollars on armor. Today I found this kit on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-ANH-Stormtrooper-Armor-Without-Helmet-100-screen-accurate-/302347672896 and I'm wondering what your opinions are on it. Is this approvable? Is it worth the the $250? By the way I already have a helmet so that won't be an issue.
  8. Alright! Thanks for all the advice, at least I have an idea what I'm in for.
  9. Hey I'm new to FISD and will hopefully start my first TK costume soon. I am in the process of modifying a black series rogue one helmet, but I don't have a clue to how to make the armor. There are no r1 kits out for sale, but nonetheless I can't spend hundreds of dollars on the armor. I was online and came across this: https://youtu.be/keSw5mAlnec I was wondering if anyone has made, or can make templates like these but for r1 stormtrooper armor. It would help a lot because it would be able to fit my budget, and could possibly be 501 approved. Thanks for the help! -Eric
