  1. I had good luck using the hot water method on my Anovos ANH build. Here is my build thread: https://imgur.com/VLfUU7r
  2. Thanks for the link to your open source blaster Andras. I’ve built one of those boards too with your help. I am hoping to find the sounds for this blaster project because this one has sounds like tie fighter, X-wing and many more that I can’t find elsewhere. Hopefully Skyone or something else has the sounds files for this blaster. Thanks again.
  3. Does anyone know where I can get the sound files? I PM,d skyone last week but he hasn’t been on for awhile.
  4. Congrats trooper! I recently finished my anovos stunt as well.
  5. It’s been a long journey and I know it’s only just begun. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my build thread and to everyone who participates is this community. I found great value reading through various threads and how tos. My journey to the 501st began in December 2016 when I ordered my Anovos OT kit. I received my kit in January 2018 and immediately began building. A fellow garrison member commented that I completed my build quickly, but it actually took me well over 100 hours. I stopped counting when I realized I had reached that bench mark. My family didn’t recognize me when I finally emerged from the garage and I had grown a beard in the process. I was frustrated at times and often asked myself, “why am I doing this?” All my frustrations disappeared when I first put on my completed armor. I am currently working on a Disney blaster conversion, but am itching to start a new armor build. This hobby is addicting! I am looking forward to my first troop and to finding my next project. Thanks again everyone.

  7. Thanks for the input. I will try trooping in it with the overlap and see how it goes. I finished the first phase of my disney blaster this weekend so I could use it for my action shot. Paint was a rush job and I just used whatever I had laying around the garage. Going to resand, repaint and weather after I upgrade the scope. I am planning on taking my submission photos tomorrow after work.
  8. I ended up buying a snap press to make my line 24 snaps. I could not get a single one to work without the press.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I think I’ll try adding some foam in the biceps to fill in the gaps. I do want to leave some room for expansion lol and I need to foam up a couple of other areas. Please keep the feedback coming.
  10. I can say thank you enough for putting out such an easy to follow guide! I would not have been able to do this build without it. Thanks again for the tips and feedback given on this thread!
  11. Thanks so much for the feedback. I definitely need to secure my thigh ammo pack. The ab kidney overlap has to stay cuz I’m just too skinny there. I’ll try to push the belt lower back there. I would have to trim all the return edge to make the bicep smaller, but I do think it would look better if I did. It was the first time I suited up and it felt awesome.
  12. Any recommendations before I take submission photos?
  13. I believe I have completed my build and only have a couple of issues remaining. After riveting on the ammo belt to the TKittell belt, one of the snaps won't stay snapped to the ab plate. Today will be the first attempt to try on the full suit so I am hoping that there will be minimal fine tuning required. I currently have nomex flight gloves with the Anovos plastic hand guards, but will upgrade to rubber gloves and latex depending on the feedback I receive when I apply for basic. I would like to go Centurion if possible, but currently only have a disney blaster with kit that still needs to be assembled and painted. I was looking at possibly getting the blaster-master e11 kit from eBay since there is a 10% off coupon today, but there is not much info on his kit on this forum. I am planning on posting some pre-submission photos here after work today or tomorrow.
  14. Progress Report for thermal detonator and belt: I ordered these screws to use on my thermal detonator from home depot online since they did not have anything in store. I cut about 3/8" off my TD and tapered the edges. I was planning on using the boiling water method, but after tapering the edges the end caps slid right on and I could not remove them. I could not use my magnets since the end caps were stuck on so I went with just taping the crap out of them. While the TD glue and black screw paint were drying I decided to take on the belt. Again I used Ukswrath Anovos build as my guide so not many in progress pics of the belt. The most difficult part of the belt for me was making holes in the TKittell belt. That thing is solid. I ended up having to use my soldering iron to puncture it. This next pic shows the s-poppers installed thru the torso again using measurements from Ukswrath build thread. I also used the pencil lead on the s-poppers to mark the belt hole locations. I believe all I have left are the shoulder covers and holster.
  15. I figured since I had to add the extra teeth, I might as well touch up the others. I think my extra teeth are a tad bit small, but I really don’t like painting at all!
  16. This version of the Anovos Helmet does not have excessive overspray but actually has too little paint around the gum line. Here is a shot of the teeth before and after:
  17. Not much work done this weekend since the wife wanted to go to vegas. This is the little work I did when we returned home yesterday... I would make a horrible artist: And this is attempt # 2 for the sniper knee
  18. So my shins have been the causing me extreme anxiety so I finally decided its time to make armor soup. First I boiled some water on the stove to cook the back plate. Since that worked well, I decided to get the big pot out (just don't tell the wife I used her pot to cook plastic) The shins fit perfectly in the pot and here are the results
  19. I haven't shown many pics of my armor so here is my progress shot as of today. I am finished with the left thigh, but my mannequin's foot is too big to slide it on
  20. The mics are really sensitive and I noticed that if I use earbuds that its actually too loud. The brow may filter some sound, but the mics are more than adequate to hear outside your helmet. I have not heard any distortion or muffling with the it in its current position, but I could probably hear more sound if nothing was in front of them. I am currently using generic helmet speakers which are not all that great, but still allow me to hear. The hearing assist module is turned up to max when using speakers and only turned up to around 1/2 if using earbuds. Hope this helps.
  21. This is what I think I need to do based on my research, but please chime in if you have suggestions. 1) Boil Water 2) transfer water to large container as required or leave in pot with stove off if large enough 3) Dip/submerge part into water for about 30 seconds a) Part must be wrapped in tape or zip ties or similar to mold into desired shape 4) Repeat as neccessary 5) Once part looks like it has been shaped, immediately dose with cold water to set in new shape Am I missing anything?
  22. Those are my shins that won’t close because of the angle so I can’t use glue. I’m positive that neither Velcro or bra hooks will work. Will attempt boiling water next and could use some pointers or other alternatives. Mics behind brow trim were not my idea. I thought I saw them on FISD somewhere, but I’ve been researching a lot so not sure anymore. Thanks for the input.
  23. Here are this weeks updates: Installed the hearing assist: Installed Fans TKittell Belt arrived and I tried it on to check torso alignment. I think I'll leave it as is since I've seen some centurion approvals with similar overlap: Next Problem...Shins. There is a snowball chance in hades that these will close... I tried a heat gun and failed miserably. The e6000 gave up under the heat so I think I'll try the boiling water method next. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
  24. Thanks for all the input! My TKittell Belt arrives on Saturday so I can see what it looks like with a belt on. I tried using my unassembled Anovos belt, but it is way too big for me and does not tighten my waist at all. I have a feeling that I will still have to use some type of mod to get it to look good even with the belt. Since I had a little downtime, I decided to work on this... Working great so far, but have not tried to install it in my bucket. I'll probably convert to use a 5v usb later.
  25. I am starting to fit my torso, BUT am having problems with the top of the ab to kidney connection. The top part goes kidney leans inward while the bottom pulls apart. Not sure how to fix this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I tried making the lower connection strap tighter on the right side, but not sure if its better or worse.
