1. Well, masters done and molds pulled in August. I had an severe eye injury and my vision in my right eye is completely blurred out due to a combination of blunt force trauma and severe scratches of the top outer eye covering. So, it halted things for a few days. Actually, a dear friend of mine (morgan13), who has been supplying that one Stormtrooper blaster for years, is flying out to my shop and we're going to be pulling molds and casting as soon as I finish machining and printing the masters. Shawn, you can chime in here if you like.
 2. Darren, I have sent items to Australia many times before. I think if we keep it in kit form, It will just look like a ton of model parts. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.
 3. Greetings First Order. My name is Ken Palkow and I'm a Hollywood special effects, weapons, and prop fabricator. For those that don't know me, if you're a movie and scifi fan, I'm sure you've seen my work. I've built everything from phasers and gadgets in the JJ Star Trek films to Gold tablets in Night at the Museum.

I see a lot of First Order guys looking for a highly accurate F-11D replica. The wait is over. I have just finished working on Death Note and will be starting on this project. I will be doing a run of high end replicas of this cool blaster and, yes, I'll be using my CAD model of the real deal. What does this mean to you guys? It means an exact replica. Dimensionally the exact same thing. It means made exactly the same way. The only difference is these will not be made under strict deadlines so they will look crisp and perfect.

So, stay tuned for follow up postings.

P.S. Sorry to all you guys for not being able to have these done before SDCC.
 4. There is another situation which was not touched on in the video. Some of us in the film industry, mainly those that design and fabricate live fire futuristic weapons own the design. See, we rent those props to the studio. We don't have a written contract per se so the there is no " copyright: work for hire". Studios don't own those particular weapons/props... we do. If someone pulls molds from one of those and begins to sell without permission from myself or another fabricator in the same situation, we are the victims not the studio.

I did a weapon for a project some years back. A member of the RPF got a hold of one of them and pulled a mold. Not only did he make a run of them available to the RPF, he took that and went to the studio for a license. He showed them my work as his own. Lol Naturally, I was contacted to verify the piece because the studio saw that it was dead on. Now, I had everything crushed there. However, he still made money off me. The RPF's rules state that if the original artist is a RPF member, you need to get permission from him first. Well, he didn't. But what I find funny is the RPF took the position that since I'm a professional, I don't fall under their rules and hence they felt this recaster was in the clear. What the RPF didn't realize is that I retain IP of those weapons when I rent "my creations".

Now, this is just one example. There are other situations where it gets tricky. But I'm just touching base on live fire weapons I design and fabricate and the studio only rents.
