1. Hi Germain... yup... I use a two part thermo-set high performance plastic. It's similar to resin with respect to mixing. However, the plastic that I use far exceeds specs of the typical resins out there.

....and Ben, I know you'll be happy with this if you decide to buy one.
 2. I'm going to try and keep costs down as much as I can. The things we need to keep in mind is all metal parts will be machined metal. Rubber will be rubber. all main parts will be cast in a high performance plastic. Front site guard I will be laser cutting and forming over a jig just like the production props. I'm printing all the masters on my Objet printer and then pull the molds. I'll be printing at 16 microns which is .0005 of an inch. That resolution means extremely low to no surface prep. Once I clean off the support material, I only need to glass bead the parts before priming. Another words.... no build lines for you guys to worry about. Basically, the only difference between my guns and production will be how crisp the details will be. Keep in mind the studio guns were thrown together fast for filming.

So, these will be high end quality but I'm going to see how low I can get the numbers. I only use high end platinum silicones for 0 shrink and plastics for strength and durability.
 3. I don't think we'll have issues going to the UK. There's so many parts to this, besides the grip, that look nothing like a real firearm. Worse case scenario, I contact one of mates in the UK film community and see what we can come up with. I've shipped in and out of the UK with no issues. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.
 4. Snap! I just realized I'm a Corporal now.
 5. Yeah... I've been kicking around if I keep everything original or hollow out things. Once I get to that point, we'll have this discussion again. Jeff, on the bottom side of some of these parts, you could easily cut a channel and run additional electronics. I do have the sound files, so... we could go a tad crazy if we wanted to. Again, I'm almost ready to start a list. If you guys want one, I suggest you get on the list. I've got another scifi TV show just handed to me. I can't say what it is. But, for those of you in your late 40s, you will know this show. It's a reboot. Netflix just ordered a set of episodes. Im excited about this one. Yet another childhood show I'll be a part of the franchise. I also have yet a second scifi production and I have Deadpool sequel coming up. So, needless to say.... once I get this initial run done, I'll be tied up until I get breaks in between productions. At that point, I'll be making them to order.
 6. That's a toss up. Yes I could make a shucks ton of room for electronics. However, it comes down to if you guys want me to keep the CAD exact to the studio prop or mod it for additional electronics. The gun will already have the cavities for the same electronics used by production.
 7. Here's the Forearm Grip Pad details. Its hard to tell from this pic but... the prop actually has different diamond like patterns with various sizes and angles. Instead of the plastic cast ones found on the studio props, I'll be casting these out of black rubber.
 8. Metric torx button head security screws for the leg mounts. Metric socket button heads for everything else except the two front muzzle screws which are imperial socket head cap screws.
 9. Hi Germain... you're not beat at all bro. You did a fantastic job with the reference you had on hand. Like I said before, I was so fracking impressed by your model. The offer stands if you like to make corrections. No waste of time at all. It's just one fabricator helping another fellow fabricator. What are you using to do your designing? my primary design software is Solidworks.
 10. No idea for cost as of yet. I will be doing both kits and complete build ups. Once I get the material costs completely figured out, I'll have a better idea.
 11. Oh... my model is genuine alright. Oink oink... wink wink. Lol

Germain, if you want help getting your model adjusted, let me get a few things off my plate this weekend and I'll lend you a hand. I'll take a look at your model and let you know what changes you need to make. Yes, your end cap needs to be changed.

Cheers brother
 12. There's more Germain. Just wait until I post all the pics and ask me some questions. Keep in mind, some details are not there due to the blaster needing to mount to the carrier lock on the leg. Otherwise, you'll be going back to your drawing board again. I'll point out the details you need to fix on your model when I get to that point. Let me finish up what's on my plate and get the rest of these pics posted.

Cheers brother
 13. Some more eye candy. And a peak at some close details not seen unless you had the prop right in front of you. I don't have the grip pads in the CAD pics because I may do all those in actual rubber vs the cast plastic used on the production guns. Enjoy!
 14. That's the very Shawn. He's one of my best friends. As for the amount of work? Lol This is what I do man. Tons of props for film in the most ridiculous time frames.

15. Yeah... not sure why the studio called this particular piece a "Mid Grade Hero". Anyway, as you know first hand Germain, there is a ton of parts to this. Molding and casting will be.... well... let's just say interesting. Lol I think while Shawn is at my shop, we'll try and get as many to the guys that need them.
 16. Hi Germain,

Thanks brother for the kind words. There is a very good reason why the CAD looks spot on. Lol You and I both know why. He he.

Let's leave it at that.
 17. Just a little sneak peak. Enjoy!
 18. Hi Germain,

I will be doing what is called the "Mid Grade Hero". Basically, the mid grades were 10% smaller than the main heros. They have the same lighting etc except the front grip doesn't pull down. Also, the larger heros have extra fasteners under the trigger guard etc. I believe the main reason for the smaller version was exactly why Starlord had 10% smaller guns in Guardians. When I was bidding on Guardians, I had to account for two sizes for Chris Pratt's guns. It was because the larger versions didn't fit and look right when holstered.

As for the accuracy of the guns I'll be producing.... They're exact. Spot on. The same thing used by production. Trust me on that one.
 19. Thanks Jeff.

Once I wrap on a few things here, I'll hit you guys with pics of the CAD. I'm sure some of you will have questions and I'm sure some of you will have "ah ha" moments.... with respect to the details fans have missed. Like, was there two different size guns? or why does this have certain details and this other doesn't. Electronics will be exactly done as the studio props. I think once I'm ready to start this, I'll do a run list. Since Shawn will be coming out to help with casting, once I finish the masters, I think we'll try and accommodate as many members as I can on the initial run. Obviously a deposit down will be required but we'll work all that out once we get to that point. I'm also thinking about providing finished build ups if you guys want.

In other news, I'm back on Death Note. Have to build another gun for L and some other cool shucks. Looks like they hired Willem Defoe to do the voice of Ryuk. This is going to be a cool film.

Cheers guys!

Ken
 20. Eye is doing much better. Doctor says everything is looking good. Started working on this again.
 21. At least I added "beautiful" just in case she does.
 22. Shawns nothing but genuine! Very rare these days. I brought Shawn in on the Death Note film I just finished on. I was pressed with an extreme unrealistic deadline to complete all work. What was supposed to be 10 weeks ended up being about 3. So, while finishing up L's hero guns, I sent him one of the extras I built for production. This way he could work his magic with molds and cast me some rubber stunts. Top fracking notch work! Better than any castings I've ever seen in the film industry.

Can't thank him enough for the extra set of hands! So having him out here to pull some molds and cast an awesome run of blasters with me is going to be nothing but fun. Blast the music... make some cool shucks... and have my beautiful girlfriend fetch us drinks and food all day long. What can bet better?

(Wait, if you're not a member here, can she see this post?)
 23. Lol.... yup... blame it on Max my fracking min pin. When we were rough housing about a year ago, he took out my left eye. I let it go for a few days and ended up with an extremely bad situation. The other morning the dog was up on the bed looking down at my face. I started to growl to begin rough housing and he literally took his paw and with one swat in the face... took my an impolite person out! Lol My fault.. he doesn't know better. This time I went to the doctors right away. This time it's not as bad as last time but it makes it hard to see when working. So, I have to chill for a few more days to finish the meds and wait for the dilation drops to wear off.
