Hey Keith welcome to the FISD!!! Follow the link that Eric posted above as well as the getting started pages here.
There a a few options as far as what armor fits what body type and all but a couple can be made to fit just about anyone.
Keep doing your research and don't be afraid to ask any questions that might come up.

Today I had yet another reminder of why I got into the 501st. Todays Troop took place at the Give Kids the World Village in Orlando, a non profit resort that gives children with life threatening illnesses a week long vacation. As a Dad, as a human....This one was hard for me. These kids are true hero's & fighters and I can't fathom what their families have and are going thru. Its true the most important thing is your health. All of us go thru things in life , Thats part of it. But what these families are dealing with are on a whole different stratosphere. We might not always like what life throws our way, but if we have our health and our children health then we can make changes adapt and solve problems.......Unfortunately not everyone has that luxury. Someone once asked my why I joined the legion and my reply ended with this. If I can help any man woman or child forget even if its for a microsecond of the struggles they're facing then sign me up!
With Unquestioned Loyalty,
Mike

Hi Jeff, I think your referring to what armor is closest to screen accurate? If thats the case then start with this page here and after that I would direct my attention to this page that explains about taking any armor to that next level with EIB or our highest level Centurion.
33 minutes ago, JWalker said:I was just wondering if anyone has taken the most popular kits and said, "This is not accurate, nor is this, nor is this."
Any kit thats discussed on out getting started page that I linked above with proper fit & built to Centurion standard will get you as close to screen accurate as possible.
As far as what armor to avoid, well we cover that pretty good as well on this page also.
Hope that helps, any other questions feel free to ask.

Nice, only thing I would do is see if you can get in the corners and square the edges a bit.

Had a great time trooping the Autism walk & Family Fun Day at the Orlando Convention Center.
You know nothing good will become of this!!
But we can jam with the best of them!!
Any day I get to troop with my Daughter is a great day!
Then this happened!!
One of many reminders of why we do what we do!
This little boy right here couldn't have been more excited to see me so I had to take him to meet all my other friends and to be honest I'm not sure who was smiling more, Him his Mom behind us or Me under the bucket.
We picked up a couple troopers in this photo on our way to the rest of the group.
This is one of my personal favorite photos of me trooping, to quote a friend of mine "Its good to be Legion"

Thanks everyone!
I'll be tormenting you all with questions! (pstt I just bought a 3d printer and I'm armed with MrBaddeleys files sooooooo I might be tormenting you lol) Any questions ask away.
I know this will be a lengthy journey (hopefully not as long as building an R2) and I'll be reading/researching for awhile. (The only deadline we have are the one we place upon yourself when building, From start to approval it took me about 5 months building a couple hours a day after work but I also have friends that have built and submitted over a long weekend.)
I'll be looking closer at everyone's costumes at the next few event to get a better idea. (Check out this Page for a starting point and this one as well for approved build threads
We also just started a pre approval section to post up right before you submit to your GML to get some feedback from. Its also a great tool to learn from. )
Hey Kris Welcome to the FISD!

Welcome Dave to FISD, Great to see you doing your research and ask away on those questions thats what we're here for!
On 3/6/2018 at 3:58 PM, Linus said:2) How do I know which thickness of ABS to consider? Is strength or pliability a larger factor?
I'll add that the thicker the armor is the weaker the details are in the pull so its a constant balancing act between durability vs sharpness of details if that makes sense.

Welcome Shannon to the FISD,
12 hours ago, justjoseph63 said:One last piece of advice is to take your time on your build. Consider this a marathon, not a sprint... if you have any questions be sure to ask before proceeding,
If I could reiterate anything that anyone has said on the forums its this piece of advice right here. Take your time and remember that we're here to help in anyway possible.
Good luck with your build and let us know if we can help!!

Hello all.
Name is Gary, out of Marietta GA.
Been wanting to get a TK for years. Bit the bullet a day after Dragoncon this year. Bought an Anovos kit without the soft goods. Was not expecting my kit till March or April of next year. Expected to have plenty of time to do research and purchasing of needed items. Then surprisingly, i received my kit in only about forty days.
So i have been on a purchasing spree this past week and and doing a lot of reading here and at the ga501st site
Following this parts list
http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31404-supply-list-for-your-tk-build/page-1
& ukswrath's build.
You can't go wrong when you combine Josephs list and Tonys build thats for sure!! Don't forget to start your own thread as well and ask any questions that come up!!
