  1. Just the overall thickness of the TD plate is pretty thick. But yeah, it does collide with the butt plate a little. I'll be making adjustments as I go Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah, once I got everything together, I noticed how thick the TD plate was. In hindsight, I wished I had shaved it down some, but originally i just assumed it was already to go as is. Considering how hard it was getting that clip on, I wish I had thought of that before How do you feel about the sides of the thigh pieces? they don't go up very far (thereby leaving a lot of "black space" between the stomach and thighs), and that's about as far up as I can get them. I'm hoping the belt will help with that.
  3. Although it's not done yet, I HAD to take it for a test drive:
  4. Ran into an interesting issue yesterday. So, I was unsure how to attach this piece to the back of the TD plate: I looked at ukswrath's thread, and his "clip" slants more which means it glues nicely to the inside of the TD plate. Mine is too "vertical" so, it doesn't fit in there. So, I figured I'd have to heat it up and open it up a bit to get more of an angle. I dont have a heat gun, and i knew you could boil abs in order to bend it. So, I put it in boiling water, but it kept squeezing shut under it's own weight...making the problem worse, not better. So, I ended up taking 2 paint sticks/stirrers, putting them both inside the clip (with a dot of CA glue to hold them in place). Placed the plastic clip with 2 paint sticks inside into the boiling water. I'd take it out once it's warm, pull apart the sticks a little bit, which opened up the plastic a little bit. Put it back in to the water, and repeat until the clip was wide enough. The sticks helped me open up the plastic, as well as keeping it perfectly straight and even: then it fit perfectly:
  5. Made a ton of progress this week Bicep fitting: Gluing on snaps for the codpiece: butt piece: Laying it out to see what it looks like:
  6. Ah, that's a white painted magnet. Duh. Makes sense now
  7. Bill Guzman. Was referred to him by KB
  8. In related news, got my leg gaskets fitted. They were a little big, so my wife sewed them smaller
  9. Good to know...I wasn't fitting these with the boots since I assumed they'd go "above" the boots...but I'll definitely give it a shot
  10. There are several paints listed in your link. Was this the one you're referring to on that page? Gloss White Acrylic Enamel 12 oz. Aerosol
  11. are the shin pieces expected to go over the top of the boots? Also, I'm trying to juggle making the bottom part large enough to accomodate my ankle (and boots, I suppose) without biting, but also not being too big that the splat can't fit around it. As it stands now, the splat will be pushing the limit to fit. And I have cut off the lower return edges. Not only did that buy me about a quarter inch of space, but it reduced the biting big time.
  12. I've basically laid out that I've barely worn it since I got it. Haven't worn it with full armor (only to fit on individual pieces), I haven't worn it out of the house let alone trooped in it. The most strenuous thing I've done with it is sit down in a chair a few times. I didn't straight up ask for an exchange (though in my 2nd email I did), but rather I asked what their recommendation was. This is their reply: I certainly haven't washed it either. With yours, are you just leaving the peeling area as is? Are you trying to glue it or repair it in some way? Is the peeling getting worse?
  13. I'm having a hard time parsing the pictures at the beginning. in each picture, I only see 1 magnet and I'm trying to figure out how the two go together. and the video doesn't seem to work anymore either. Edit: Got the video working with Microsoft Edge. Okay, I'm starting to see how the magnets work, but I still don't see how the other magnet goes. In this picture, for example: Along the top there, you can see the exposed magnets. On the bottom, are those magnets, too? If so, how are they "inside" the plastic? To me, those just look like recesses for the upper magnets to fall into. Basically, I cant see how the second magnets on the lower part are affixed.
  14. I'll ask if an exchange is possible, but unfortunately, I've had the suit for at least 2 months now and just now discovered the problem. I don't even know how recent the peeling is. Could have happened a week ago or the first time i put it on.
  15. I got my undersuit from stormtrooperundersuit in May. I haven't completed my kit yet, so I've only worn it a few times while fitting my armor. I haven't trooped in it or even worn it out of the house. The shiny part of it has started to peel terribly. not sure what to do about it. I'm well outside my return period, but I have emailed them anyway and awaiting their reply. This is the suit I got: https://www.stormtrooperundersuit.com/first-order-stormtrooper-undersuit.html And here is the peeling: Is this an indication that it is too small? If so, the next size up seems way to big. The site claims this suit goes up to 6'2", but it's pretty snug on me at 6'0". I'm also pretty big around the middle, so maybe I'm too "wide" for it. Is the shiny area even necessary? Should I just let it peel, and peel it all off? Any way to fix it? Should I just get something else? Any and all ideas are welcome.
  16. Here's some pics. I had my wife help me tonight, and I think we have it figured out, but I still have a feeling it's not gonna fit great. I felt it biting into the front of my ankles a little bit. I shaved off the return edges at the bottom which helped a little. Basically what I'm trying to do is get an inch on both sides - room enough for gluing on one side, and velcro'ing on the other
  17. Yeah, I knew I should've posted some pics. I'll try to get to it tonight. I think part of my problem is just needing an extra set of hands. I can only do so much standing up, leaning over, holding the armor with one hand and trying to draw lines with the other lol In the meantime, do you have any thoughts on overlapping vs shimming? This kit doesn't have the glue tab like yours did. So, I'd have to either overlap them, or use a shim and glue it that way. If you need pics first to have an idea on that, I understand. I'll get them tonight.
  18. So, I seem to be having trouble with the calf/shin pieces. Doing it by myself isn't easy either. I'm trying to make the ankle narrow enough that the splat fits around it, but when I push the bottom part in, the top part by the back of the calf sorta swivels out and is too big. I'm overlapping the inside and outside, trying to overlap them about an inch. I suppose I could butt them together and use a shim, which could give me a little more plastic to work with, but I dunno. The pieces aren't fitting too well. This is KB's kit. Anyone have advice or approaches for sizing the calf/shins?
  19. Fitting the ab section and thighs. I've also got the gluing done on these pieces, but didn't take pics of that yet
  20. You probably wouldn't be able to avoid painting, considering you have to bondo/fill some of the pieces to make them seamless.
  21. Awesome, thanks for the recommendation Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  22. I've got the regular Anovos helmet (the $250 one, not the fiberglass deluxe one), and a set of KB armor. I'd like to get away with not having to paint the helmet, so I'd like to be able to paint the armor to match it. Has anyone done this and can recommend paint?
  23. KB Armor. Some in-progress pics: Trimming: Gauntlet assembly: Back/Yoke: Attached the ab to the kidney, and started planning the thighs:
