  1. I did not cc but it would probably be ok....honestly at this point, if I don't end up going with the auto guy, I think I would end up going with the Rustoleum steamboat is using on his kit....you just can't beat that gloss Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yep, exactly this....I tore into smaller strips, then carefully placed and doubled up /overlapped covering the entire lens[emoji1303]....
  3. Hey buddy, I love all the discussion but lets try and keep the photos limited to your thread...if I allow other members to post pics throughout my personal thread it becomes difficult to decipher my own images ; )....thanks
  4. Beautiful....I have the same Skydex pads...how do you like them with the helmet liner?...One thing I don't like about the liner is that it rotates anterior/posterior...
  5. Went ahead and coated the inside today while I'm waiting for the paint test. That being said, I went ahead and masked off very securely as SB had an issue with some overspray leaking through. Next, threw down a misting coat of dark primer. Once this dried after about 60-90 minutes I went ahead and laid the plastic coat. I prefer LET over plastidip as it sprays MUCH better. You can find it at any Home Depot. Here are my results after about 15 minutes of drying time.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Moving along man! Looks great. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. FYI....I'm number 66 [emoji12][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hey buddy...things are picking up..still need to sand the thighs and shins but other than that, I'm nearing the paint process[emoji1303]
  9. In the meantime, here is where I'm at. After a lunch discussion with a good buddy of mine (501st member fettseven) I've handed a few pieces over to an autobody paint professional (both knees and the one belt piece). He is going to work on a color match and add a pretty hefty flex agent which he seems pretty confident about. I'll try and get the applied formula for those who are thinking about going this route...bc he's through a friend he's offered me a pretty great deal.....keep everyone posted on this. 10. Ok let me see what I can do...it does play on mine (iPhone). Maybe a phone issue?
  11. All finished guys....look ok!? [emoji12]....although not my build, felt my delivery today was warranted ; )...if you haven't picked up the SS Jakku exclusive I highly recommend it...great piece and will undoubtedly look great next to his buddy in my detolf.....more updates soon. 12. Ok here's a quick update. Was able to do another test piece today(belt piece) as I wanted to get this paint on a rigid piece. Granted it's not gloss coated however, I Was not happy with the level of shine. For flexibility I am willing to give up a tiny bit of gloss but not this much. That being said, my auto paint guy is going to match the white and go through his process on the belt piece as well as one of the knees. Keep you posted[emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Looking good buddy....keep it up![emoji1306][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. And a final shot to close mothers day evening properly... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. And indoor light for a comparison... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Here's the flexibility of this stuff https://vimeo.com/165814788 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Here's the image of the test piece and helmet cropped in sunlight. The test piece is on your left, and the anovos helmet on the right. Keep in mind there are shadows casted and differing hues....pretty close IMO...thoughts? The most important part is that this piece has been folded in half with absolutely 0 cracking.....will test again tomorrow... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Man that looks beautiful man! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Alright here's a few more with the CC against the anovos... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks buddy...we'll see. I'm really trying to get the paint down...honestly I don't really want to HAVE to have an autobody guy paint this but will if I absolutely have to I will. That being said, if I can get the color close to the anovos lid, achieve the gloss I like, and it maintains an abundance of flexibility I may call it a day ; )....lots of feedback from you guys will help!
  21. Now...testing with SEM elastomeric high gloss clear coat.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Just testing out these guys before I send off to the autobody shop...ill keep you all posted....hoping we don't have to give up gloss at the cost of flexibility? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey Steamboat....I believe December/ January....if you check his thread currently it seems people are recieving shipments. Not a bad turn around considering its fully assembled[emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
