  1. Sanding only gets you so far with FDM 3D printing. Optimally you would want to sand, then use a filler such as bondo or xtc smooth on, Sand more (repeat until you are happy). Then paint. 3D printing gives you something to work with but it isn't a finished product. It is mainly why I stopped selling my kits assembled and finished. I'm a perfectionist and I just ended up working as slave labor to make the pistols/blasters perfect.
  2. Sorry guys I don't check this forum post anymore as its been a while. Best just to PM directly and I'll get back to you. I can still print these for anyone interested. Just send me a PM or for a faster result email me at mo3d.printing@gmail.com
  3. Yeah, seems like there is a need for more riot baton options out there. Looks like its time to model it up in solidworks and print.
  4. Yeah man, looks great. Let me know if you'd like me to test print it for you.
  5. Not sure if you guys are wanting a pre-assembled finished F-11D, but you could always get unassembled kits shipped to you. I've sent a lot of my unassembled pistol kits to the UK without any problems. I wouldn't imagine a F-11D having any problems.
  6. The trick with flexible filaments is that they want to bend when being forced into the extruder. Its like trying to push a rope. A lot of printer manufacturers/tool heads get around this buy creating a guide/tube that prevents the filament from bending in its path between the extruder gear and hot end nozzle. There no real magic to it, I've seen guys literally snip a piece of smooth tubing (usually used to guide the filament from the spool to the extruder) to size and Macgyver it in place with success. I've heard of bowden extruders and standard direct drive having no problem printing semiflex type filament when you slow it way down. I'm not sure if this would work with high flexability ninjaflex FYI: I believe Semiflex and Ninjaflex are all derivatives of TPU. In case people were wondering, the most common day to day application that I've seen TPU used in is cell phone cases (if you've got a hard rubber like case, odds are its TPU).
  7. Forgot to mention that there is approximately a 4 week lead time.
  8. Great! You can send payment to the Paypal account of mo3d.printing@gmail.com Likewise you can email me with any questions at that address. Its the quickest/direct line to me. I normally respond back in under 10 minutes unless I'm in a meeting or dealing with the kiddos.
  9. Sounds good Bryan. I've found Shipping to the UK and Germany to be $15 extra. You'd be looking a 140 for the prints + 15 for electronic parts + 15 additional shipping = $170 total
  10. I dont think the helmet is overly viable. I think there are better options than 3D printing! Kylo Ren's saber eh? I will have to take a look.
  11. The sale is on! I've posted it here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38025-se-44c-kit-sale-30-off-3d-prints/
  12. I am from the Indianapolis area and in celebration of Gen Con next month I have decided to run a 30% off 3D print sale which also applies to my SE-44C kit. Note that the 30% off does not just apply to my SE-44C kit but to all of my prices for anything printed in the month of July. I know my pricing has been a little high and this has turned some people away. But for the month of July I am offering my 3D pistol kit at 30% off for $140 (this includes shipping to anywhere in the continental USA. International shipping is determined by location but often turns out to be an additional $15). As usual all parts are printed in durable ABS plastic. Pictures of the pistol and kit are further down the page. Below is the link to the assembly manual as I want there to be transparency and no question on what you're purchasing. (file was to large to attach). https://www.dropbox.com/s/fftexffh1rhgvzh/TFA%20Pistol%20Assembly.pdf?dl=0 Additionally I have learned that some people have had a hard time sourcing the extra hardware, LED and parts that are not 3D printed. I will be offering these parts as add-ons to the kit. Add-on 1: The 6 specialty security screws and trigger pin ~ $15 Add-on 2: Parts for LED circuit (wiring, LED, resistor, potentiometer, resistor, switch, battery holder) - $15 Possible Add-on 3: I have recently purchased a CNC machine and will be looking into machining the holster mounting plates out of aluminum. I do not have a time line nor exact pricing yet. I'd imagine pricing to be $15-20. I will have more info once I get it up and running. Let me know if you are interested in this. Things not included in this kit: 1. Holster mounting bolts. I let everyone decide how they want to holster mount the kit themselves as everyone has their own preference. 2. AA Batteries need for LED 3. XTC-3D epoxy for finishing 4. Paint for finishing 5. Glue/Acetone for assembly 6. Solder/iron for assembling LED circuit ***Note: Sale applies to orders placed in the month of July***
  13. Sorry to hear about your trouble, that sucks. When is Comic Con, July 21st? If you're still in a bind shoot me a PM (or better yet email me at mo3d.printing@gmail.com for a quicker response). I'm in a slow period on orders for my 3D printer and could potentially get one out to you. I'm not as cheap as Heston, but lets just say I have a different mentality when it comes to prints and print runs. Hopefully it all works out for you one way or another.
  14. I'm not intimate with Hestons mounting plate. But from my own designs and knowing 3D printing, I recommend to everyone buying my pistols to upgrade to an aluminum mounting plate. I believe Heston uses PLA which I personally would worry about it cracking if you drilled into (the stuff can be brittle). Now take that with a grain of salt as I actually don't know. And I do want to emphasize I do not know (not trying to step on anyones toes here). Just letting you know what my gut feeling. I print my mounting plate in ABS, but I refer to it as a "mounting plate template" since ABS is equally terrible as it tends to flex a little when its printed in such a thin piece. Metal. But then I tend to error on the side of going stronger than it needs to be.
  15. Hmm... You've caught my interest. Looking at the pictures Germain posted, it would be neat to somehow incorporate the options to put blue/white LED's in the deflectors inside edges to give it that glowing "crackling" look (you'd only need some small holes and then I'd probaly just run some LED tape down either side). Not sure how accurate it would be, but it would look cool. What are you thinking with the deflectors movement? Keeping them in-tension in the closed position sounds like a good idea. I think if we print this in ABS the plastic would be able to hold up fine, depending on how thick you've made the walls. My biggest concern would be stopping the deflectors in the correct position. Have you seen this guys PVC version? I'm mainly looking at his internal hinge mechanism (around 2 minute mark) I hate to rip off other people, but his internal spring/tension mechanism would probably be a good starting point (its where I'd start and then improve on). Let me know if you want to try test printing some things. I have about a 11" cube volume.
  16. Most of you probably know me from the TFA weapons forum where I've been printing the SE-44C TFA pistol for some of you. I've finished up my latest print run and I'm looking to the future on my next project. (Although I am contemplating doing a huge 30% off blow out sale for the pistol in celebration of GenCon (I'm from the Indianapolis area), but that is off topic). Rather than just designing and printing whatever comes to my mind I thought I'd ask the community. So what do people want to see? What would everyone be interested in for a print run? I've had several people interested in Thermal Detonators with LED's (I looked into sound also but I was having a hard time finding a sound chip small enough to fit into a thermal detonator at a reasonable price). Anyways the Thermal detonator is just an idea. What do people want to see? The sky is the limit. The only limit is size. I finally have some free time and I'm excited to start on the next project. I've got an engineering background, electrical knowledge, a highly modified and upgraded 3D printer and actual 3D design software. Suggest away!

  19. I just updated the original post of the topic with the info below. I just entered this SE-44C Officer Pistol into the Starwars prop competition over at 3D Hubs. They take the communities vote into account when selecting a winner. Hopefully you guys will head over and give my entry an up vote! You'll need a 3D Hubs account to vote but I know a lot of you already have one! Below is the link. https://www.3dhubs.com/talk/thread/star-wars-3d-design-and-print-competition#comment-33898 The competition is in a forum format and it is pretty badly laid out. You'll need to scroll down near the bottom of the page to find my entry. Thanks for the help guys! I'm going to be doing an Officer Pistol kit giveaway! One lucky person will win a free kit, mailed to their door. I will post details in the next couple of days on how to enter to win. 20. Hey guys, sorry I've been missing, we just had our 2nd child so things have been busy!<br><br> Regarding the air soft question - I can't say for certain as I'm not 100 percent certain of the dimensions. However I did use what are supposed to be dimensionally accurate Glock models as the starting point of my design. I would venture to say that you could make it work with some modifications. <br><br> I've had enough requests that I will probably be starting one more print run. If you are interested be sure to contact me via email at mo3d.printing@gmail.com <br><br> I get so many inquiries each day that having everything in one place such as emails helps me keep track and respond quicker. Thanks guys!
  21. Thanks TK6682! I put a lot of work into it. <br><br> For those of you who I've talked to and we're interested in shipping to the UK and Canada. Sorry for the delay and confusing, I've never done international shipping before and i had to shop around for a better quote. I've found a more reasonable shipping method at $20. <br><br> Let me know if any of you still interested. Email me at mo3d.printing@gmail.com
  22. For those who are interested in the LED and how it looks. I've uploaded a short video to my Instagram and Facebook pages. Check them out. <br><br> Facebook.com/mo3dprinting
  23. Thanks for the interest everyone. If you are interested in purchasing please shoot me a PM on here or an email at mo3d.printing@gmail.com<br><br> I am currently working with some community members to add the holster attachment. Understandably this is important and it will be included in the prints/orders.<br><br> The orders will include the unassembled printed parts you see in the pictures posted above plus the mentioned holster attachment (still being designed) unless requested otherwise. <br><br> I will start the first run in the next few days, let me know if you are interested or have any questions.
