  1. Got my ATA helmet yesterday but I am sick and my daughter is sick and getting started on this project wasn't happening.
  2. Looks good. I just got on the ATA waiting list. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  4. Thanks, I was looking at UV film as an option. Also, dark green helmet shields but I don't think they come in a green close enough to what is required. I was just asking to see if anybody has already worked out a solution for it. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  5. This is probably a really dorky thing to worry about but I'm big on uv protection. I don't think the green lighting film has any uv protection as it was not made with that in mind. Do troopers who are concerned simply wear sunglasses in their helmets when trooping outdoors or has anyone found an alternative material that does provide uv400 protection? 6. I am in the AO of the DSG and have been referred to this maker as well. However, I have lost all interest in this maker after learning they are recasting. I'm not trying to be judgmental of the maker, I'll leave that to the experts and actual members. A recast is just not what I'm looking for. As attractive as the price may be or its proximity to you, I would suggest going with a vetted maker/seller. This thread has been pretty helpful, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  7. I joined FISD about a month ago and had asked about RS kits in my first post. In a PM somebody had referred me to a maker here in my state(AZ) as a possible alternative to RS. That person had given me the wrong contact info so I never got a hold of the maker and forgot about it. Then on a different forum a member there referred me to the same maker with the correct contact info. So I figured I'd give them a shout because less expensive and local yadda yadda. Then after some digging and googling I read that this maker is recasting? Is this really a bad thing and if so why would a member refer me? I am definitely less interested now knowing that the kit is a recast of somebody else's work and I feel like a rube for even entertaining the idea. I just thought I'd share this with other members and hopefuls so that people like me can be a little better informed. I understand that there is already threads on recasting, where to buy vs where not to but for somebody like me with a poor memory and a apparent inability to find the thread I'm looking for, I don't think it would be a complete waste of time to ask or bring it up. Also, I'm bored, wired on Rockstar and my 11 month old isn't the best conversationalist yet.
  8. Ivan, I too am of Asian descent and close to your size. I havent had either AP or RS yet but I've got my heart set on RS. What sold me on their kit is the level of accuracy and that they offer everything you need.
  9. Hey Stratton, I too want to get a kit from RS and cant make up my mind if I will get just the kit or the full commission. Have you reached out to your local garrison? I found my local garrison as well as this forum have been extremely helpful.
