Hi all - so I was recently 501st approved, and have my 1st troop coming up...but being able to actually walk in my kit would be a decided benefit! I know it's all down to the individual trooper, but any tips on how to trim the backs of the thighs/top of calves to allow more leg manoeverability? I can lift my foot up past a few inches. Worried about making too dramatic a cut and throwing the "look" off. Any pics of people's examples that work would be awesome. I'm 5'7" and sticky if that makes and difference.

Cool name bro! Lol -
Looking for any suggestions on how to best secure my icomm & aker amp. Is it best to just have amp hanging around neck (under chest pieces) with icomm secured to chest plate w/Velcro, or does anyone have other/better ideas??

Hi all! In order to hide some issues I'm having with the gap/shelf butt between the butt plate and kidney plate, and the way my armor rests on me, I'm having my belt tighten over the gap. Only issue is how to secure it there. Velcro is the easiest solution, and sewing Velcro onto the inside of the belt is not an issue, but how best to secure the Velcro to the armor (above and below the gap at the sides and at the back) so that it won't peel away every couple of troops when it gets pulled on/off? Just CA glue? Or any other ideas on how to securely secure Velcro (either sticky back or not) to plastic?

Hi all - so, heating plastic scares me to death. I need to warm my knee plate so I can mold it to the top of the calf, and am trying to figure out the best way to uniformly heat the plate so I can press it into place. However, I am very trigger shy with the heat gun based on past experiences! I tried to "boil" some plastic as a test run, but even after nearly 30mins of boiling, it really wasn't pliable enough. Warming it over the hot plate is like using the heat gun, and I really don't want to screw it up (this is already my 2nd knee plate in this build).

Thoughts/suggestions??

Using Plasti Dip for the interior
Millar007 replied to TK852's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Thought about the cheese cloth, but just went dip It really did come out very even & smooth, and no issues with the Velcro I used for helmet pads and my fan set up sticking to it either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hi all - can I get some input on how to attach the knee plate. It doesn't fit the top of the calf right now, so thinking of heating in water to suitably mold, but then how to attach? Glue? Rivets? Other?

I cheated and bought a completed bucket, so couldn't tell u about the seam. Did the dip myself though. Tricky but not too hard....tape over eyes and mouth, used a brush Bout 1" wide, like I say about 4 coats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Howdy all...when I glued my calf piece at the front (overlapping) it didn't quite set as clean as I want/need, and so need to separate, clean & re-glue. Any tips on how best to do this with minimal chance of breaking anything? Any chemical or solvent that loosens the bind?
