  1. I didn't have time to check them out. You ran away to get home soooo fast.
  2. I'm very close now. Need to fit my lenses, add some t-tracks, cut my butt plate and shim the sides. I'm really worried about the shimming. Not sure of how to do that.
  3. It was a great first event for me as well. I loved it. Great people to serve the empire with. Looking forward to next time.
  4. I found that if you are careful with the ABS cement, it shouldn't be a problem. Just add a small patch of it and not all the way out to the edges you should be fine. Glue can be messy with whatever type you use.
  5. Hi. TK-7060 requesting 501st access. Thanks Ole TK-7060 http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=9977
  6. I'm going to shim the sidegap with some spare ABS from the kit. I'm thinking of doing it like this: Cut a strip of ABS and glue it to the inside of the side of the armour with half inside, and half on the outside. Then glue the shimming plate on the half of the ABS strip sticking out of the armour. This, in theory, makes the shimming plate align perfectly with the chest armour. According to the Elite standards: "PREFERRED: A shim can be used to bridge the gap. Ideally shims will be added in a seamless fashion to the ab/kidney plates to emulate these parts of the armor meet in the middle." By doing this on both the chest and the back, I will have plate that meets in the middle. Does this sound good at all?
  7. Thanks for the tips. I'll start working on it tomorrow. The thighs took me the whole evening. Slowly moving forwards,
  8. I think I will use.... wait for it... rivets for knee and glue for thigh. Is there a riveting tutorial I might have missed while searching the forum? (Pun intended)
  9. I've come as far on my armour now that I'm putting on the knee plate and thigh ammo strip. I'm wondering about how to place them, should I glue them on or should I use velcro? And with the knee plate, is there any trimmin to be done. I have the FX kit, and it seems to fit nice on, but as a newbie builder, my eyes can be blind.
  10. I have come so far in my armour research that I have found an armour I'd like to go for. I think I've decided to go for the TM Stormtrooper armour. The thing is that I have some concerns. are the materials any good or does it crack easily? I stand 190cm from the ground (6,2 feet). Will this armour suit me, or is the FX armour better for my height? I also carry a little extra luggage at the tummy region, not much but a little. Will there be a significant gap between the ab and kidney plates? I know I can use shims, but I'd like to use as little of this as possible.
