Finished my T-21 today! Got some greeblies added to it, thanks Joseph for sending me the sights, they look awesome!! For the tubing I got rubber windshield washer tubing and superglue. There is a seam underneath, I just filled it with some silver sculpey clay (I didn't have black), heated it with a heat gun for a little while on low so it would cure, and painted it black. I found mine at True Value, it was I think $.89 a foot. For the wires I used actual electrical wiring. My husband helped me bend it cause man was it thick! I used a little bit of the left over tubing for the one in the back, and a touch of superglue on parts here and there, just to make sure I get a good hold. You can see the one screw is a little off on my back greeblie I couldn't get it to go right, but it's holding. I might play around with it a little or replace the rubber and start over. I think it looks pretty awesome!! I added a little "dark cherry" color to the stock and handles too.

Finished product, well I need to tweak a few things: 1. Adjust my pauldron, calf, handguard, and shoulder pouch before taking pictures haha 2. Bend the piece on my back plate that is sticking up too high. 3. Fix the left bicep as well, looks like it sits a little high compared to the other. I should have this all done by tomorrow afternoon, and will be sending pictures to my Garrison Commander tomorrow night (since I sent my application in to the 501st tonight!) I don't really care for the shoulder pouch. I think I'm going to do this Capt http://www.mepd.net/uploads/Captain-Docking-Bay-94-Gariden.jpg once I finish the greeblies on my T-21.

Update to my armor. I have finished weathering! Here are some photos, the lighting isn't the best. Double checking on the MEPD.net to make sure it's not too much. My first layer is burnt umber acrylic paint, then I mixed some burnt umber, black, and a cream color to make a brownish gray just to do a few accent spots, then hit everything with the three colors of fullers earth (a light tan color, a cocoa color, and a gray). Now to attach pouches and take photos for my application!

Boot opinions please?

I bought two pairs of the Bass shoes, one for myself and one my husband. They are super comfortable right out of the box, and very nice quality. I got a men's 7 (they are a little big, but that's as small as they go) and he wears a 12. He did say there are a little tight around the toes, he has pretty wide feet. The size I got was almost full price at about $74 US and his were about $50 or $60 US, but with Prime I got free shipping. They are still cheaper than going through TKboots.com, I was told shipping would be around $80 US. I was put on a waiting list about 4 months ago, and still haven't heard anything back. I just decided to buy some black ones online and do what you are wanting to do. -
I will try, we are back to the "lovely" overcastness of Washington. All rain and no sun Not sure if the natural light will be bright enough. I will have to say I do like how the fuller's earth goes on. I played around with my helmet to see if I can do that without the acrylic layer. It looked too different, so I had to wash it off. I used a makeup brush to put it on, the blush brush. Cause man Trooperbay gets it everywhere in his video. I'll get some pics of my helmet too.

I've seen people use black fabric paint too. I didn't think about spray paint! -

I don't know about using a dremel for the sanding. It's very easy to over heat and melt the abs. I used a dremel to round my cover strips and the plates, outside of that everything else I hand sanded with 220 grit and 1000 grit sandpaper. I'd recommend getting a heat knife, you can get it at most fabric or hardware stores for making holes in the nylon webbing for your snaps. I did the "male" snaps in abs based on this tutorial, but used a drill for the holes instead. Then, then you just glue the plates on with E6000 and some clamps. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/5829-howto-make-snap-plates/ -

I got my pouches from ebay and dyed them black with liquid Rit dye. Shipping took maybe a week, and dying was super easy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-German-MP38-MP40-Magazine-Pouch-Set-Reproduction-/181917545315? -
I based mine off a nylon dog collar with the little plastic buckle in the front. I used nylon webbing for the belt, 1" inch elastic with snaps to attach the thighs, a plastic buckle, and the plastic adjuster. Here is a front image of it, the back has two elastic pieces for the back of the thighs. Don't mind them looking off, I couldn't pull them up any higher with my thick sweatpants on. Oh and the cheesy silver "A", I put that on since my husband has a similar belt as well. -----------

I can't upload pictures to my imgur account on my phone, so pictures will be coming tomorrow. Worked on sewing canvas belts (everything in twos since my hubs is doing sandy armor too), attaching more snaps and webbing (only about 5 left), worked on my calves, and started putting some padding in my helmet. I will be starting to weather and hoping to get a huge portion done tomorrow, weather permitting. If it's not raining I need to mow the lawn. I've decided to use acrylic, fuller's earth, and sand.

Ok, I need to remember to take some pictures tomorrow. I've got my butt, kidney, and back pieces together with snaps and webbing. Made a belt for myself and my Sandy Pimpernel to attach elastic to hold our thighs up. I have my arm pieces all attached together with snaps and elastic. It's looking like I am going to have to trim the top of my ab piece I'm just a tad too short for it to fit properly to the chest piece. Im hoping to be finished by Halloween. Even though I'm going to be a Shai sulud for Halloween. I made it last year for Halloween and wore it to ECCC this year.

I got two sets of 2mm in August, one for my husband and one for myself, it is white and shiny. Definitely no need to paint it, unless you are doing a sandy. I almost feel bad we are going to get ours dirty for sandies. I'm loving our TM armor, to me it is far more superior that the other types I have seen.

There is a lot of issues with what is "screen accurate" to me, since the actors who played the Sandtroopers wore each other's armor in miss matched configurations. http://www.looksirdroids.com/davin_film.htm. Neither one of us are interested in doing PO or SWAT, for the price to have to get all the upgrades of two backpacks, two different weapons (because Hyperfirm aren't "good enough") I can by another set of armor or do other costumes. The actors also didn't wear all of the armor in all of the shots. There are several shots that when you look at the behind the scenes photographs they only have armor on from the waist up. FYI, the 501st was originally a costuming club centered around Stormtrooper armor, with the founder Albin Johnson being a TK himself.

Posting on your post about the post that I posted. Here is your DLT-19 butt stock. Butt hehehe. Sorry, Minion joke. Anywho, anyone how is interested I did a wood grain effect to my T-21 and Sandy Pimpernel's DLT-19. I painted a few coats of matte black with acrylic spray paint, then used the same acrylics that we are using to weather our armor once complete. Basics burnt umber and raw sienna.

I gave up on the tube stripes letting Sandy Pimpernel take one for the team, and do those. He did a fantastic job, and I didn't have to throw my helmet against the wall and possibly break it. Check out his thread http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33508-my-first-build-a-td-from-tm-story/ onhow he did the template from Pandatrooper's template. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/14867-tube-stripe-masking-templates/ I worked on painting the butt stocks of Sandy Pimpernel's DLT-19 and my T-21. I put a double coat of matte black acrylic spray paint and used the same colors of acrylic we picked up for our weathering for the armor to make the wood grain effect. The colors were burnt umber and raw sienna by Basics. I put a lighter base coat, then a darker top coat. The DLT-19: My T-21: When I see them together I think of You're My Best Friend by Queen "Ooh you're the best friend that I ever had I've been with you such a long time You're my sunshine and I want you to know That my feelings are true I really love you Oh you're my best friend"
