Absolutely...They were mounted with the small lens forward and a gap between the viewers eye and the rear lenses, if you try to put your eye right up to the lens you get a blur... I couldn't compare them side by side when I had to make the decision so I just plumped for the smooth, tbh don't know what made me do it but I did...
