  1. Thanks Airborne, I'll check it out! Finally getting into the glueing again. Forearms drying one strip at a time. Got them both done and fit great, I put extra stripps on the inside too. I deemed today"Imperial Cat-er-Day" So excited about getting my armor parts done!!!
  2. Any one recumbent a good blaster maker, not looking for expensive, some-where middle of the road costs.
  3. Went out to a Canton Ohio event called the "Odd Mall" found me a Voice Amplifire Clone Helmet, nice score for only $10! Never knew they made them, thought the lenses are big are these liked by the 501st in trooping? OH-kay back to work, here I taped off the size for my gauntlets, don't mind Boo, he was just checking out the work too. So I just pretty much just center them to my size... Then mark the center points on each side... Then I'll cut, attach cover shims and then assemble 2 parts, easy right?
  4. Went out and bot a Black under armor set, got the 2X, tight fit but moves great and feels like not wearing much… wife laughed pretty good too. but after loosing so much weight I wanted to see whee the Ab armor was fitting. Still to much space, so if I still have this much space when I get the rest done how do shims come into play? Any one have photos if they added them?? After trimming the belt the boxes seem a little low. The cest, where to start… OK how about the neck just cutting into my skin (Ouch!!) Where do these things trim down to??? I just know it hurts! Hay! It's me!!
  5. OK I found something that referenced the belt being cut 3-5 mm from the ammo boxes, so I measured and did some cutting today: Not much, but better? Need to sand cuts
  6. OK, went to the hardware store and got better snaps. Belt on!! Left space for button box. Attach and I'm starting to feel more like a trooper every day. Cats think I'm weird though…
  7. Sounds like a good idea, I'll have to look for smaller washers though, the ones I have are a smugger to bug for my snaps. Maybe when I'm out I'll see if there are any thicker heavier duty snaps at Lowe's or Home Depot. At least I was able to get the snap off with out messing up my current hole… better make my small glue on snaps and get more practice before I finish my belt. I'll see if any one else has any ideas this week and then I'll continue with the straps. Thanks for the help Darth and Kredal!!
  8. Heavy Duty Snaps from Michael's, the brand is Loops & Threads
  9. Trying to put in my first snap, too light on the hammer, and the outer piece is wobbly and pops off when I connect the snap and try to un snap it. Too hard and it just popped off after hammering… Help, any suggestions? is this snap too small?
  10. Ok time to get serious on this build, I cleaned up my work space and brought everything out:
  11. Thanks Warkicker & ukswrath, once I see the movie this weekend I'll double my efforts on the build! Here are the last of the countdown banners... Hope you enjoyed the countdown!!
  12. OK Here goes the ammo pouches, measured it all out… Getting the hang of rivets now. Ta-daa! Going to wait to do more later, its late now. Should there be more space?
  13. Snap test, I bought 2 different snaps. 1. Mini Anorak and 2. Heavy Duty Both went together without a hitch, but the heavy Duty tools will be easier attaching to the armor.
  14. Slow and steady will win the race…. Marking up the cuts on my belt, "measure twice, cut once," First cuts, no blood, YEAA! Cuts done, Drill Hole next To mark the canvas belt they say mark the holes while on a curve of the fit, so the is less stress on the hold of the rivets, need a second set of hands, need the wife to help. In the mean time I pick out my outfit for the Premier of the Force Awakens:
  15. Can we see the ab plate snaps? I will do it this way, but have to get some new snaps on Black Friday!!! Oh going out in this traffic may suck just a bit
  16. OK I have a rivet gun now, I think I have all the tools to get my belt started. for researching how to put the darn thing together I found this diagram. What do you guys think, is this the best way to put it together? I thought the plastic belt would have just been riveted to canvas part, is this just one possibility?
  17. can you post a side view with your arms up, I'm going to do the shims on the sides and I was wondering how they turned out?
  18. Thanks for the Info, I'll be working on it tomorrow, lets see if I have the cur rage to do some cutting! In the mean time more toons for the countdown: By the way, like the new banner for Airborne Trooper (I do commissions!)
  19. Thanks Walter, I'm glad you like it! OK! I got my canvis belt in the mail this week! Very nicely made, I could never had made something this nice. Love it!! Went over to my moms today and got my dads Leather puncher: Go into the trooper armor brown box and… wait. 2 belts? Im guessing one Stunt, or hero or sand trooper? Got to order my detonator clips still, but I can start on the rest of the belt. Time to look up the instructions, research is the funist part Any hints or tips on this part are welcome!
  20. Ugg!! I went cut happy. Thank you for catching that early. I got the info from you on how to fill it, thank you, wish me luck.
